have thought about mounting my shovel under the frame of my trailer, but wondered how the quick fists would work. I currently have my axe mounted on the side.
I think you would have a hard time getting a 265/70/16 to wear well on a 16x4.5" wide wheel. The 255s on mine seem to be the max on the width you can squeeze on a 4.5" wide wheel and the 265s you list have less sidewall to boot.
tires on stock m416 rims. I had asked about the largest tire I could fit on the stock wheels. Well recently I tried out some 255x85x16s out and they fit and do not rub after I did a spring over. But they also dont rub the tub like I was afraid they would
looks like you need to shorten your ladder up some. On my RTT it actually supports some of the weight of the overhang. Looks like thats why its sliding out on you and you need the strap. It also looks like it may be bending from being out too far at such an angle.
I want to add trailer brakes to my m416, but I love the Parking brake, and I am having a hard time finding an electric braking axle with a manual parking brake.
I replaced mine at around 100k and then I had to do it again last fall when it gave out on a trip in NC at 182k. They seem to last around 80-100k. I put in a crap Advance Auto parts one, but at least it had a lifetime warranty and they replaced it for free.
one word of advice if you plan to use that as a recovery point or towing point you will want to tie into the same nutserts you used for the skid plate as well. The 4 bolts on each side mount are just nuts welded to the thin sheetmetal. They will rip and crack the the metal over time.
