Does anyone know where the FlipPac tents were made?... I was thinking that SLO Canvas and Sail (who makes the rain fly) might.... but they said they have no clue. They also said they get this question all the time :-/
SLO did say to really look around inside and see if there is a tag somewhere...
HUmmm thanks, this is the particular info I'm looking for.... might be I will need to go with the Agile RIP kit.... although I hate the idea of lifting another 1.5"...
Maybe I'm being too simplistic in my thinking....
...the Quigely 4x4 I have only has like 1.5". maybe 1.75" before you hit the rubber bump stop. The rubber stop is almost 2" tall... Very regularly I am bottoming out with this very limited travel (I can't believe Quigley would design something...
It did not slide on at all.... I am working with SAW and they are re-cutting the splines (I sent them one of my hinges). Stay tuned... SAW may release a full hinge/bar/bushing kit ;-)
I just sent my Sway A Way torsion bar back along with a hinge set - they are looking into the possibility of making a hinge... I will post up when they decide... One difficulty is they are indicating there may be two types of splines out there - the reason I sent my SAW bar back - see here...
Sway-A-Way is taking a look at this situation.... apparently there are more than likely TWO types of splines out there... I'm sending them a hinge - may take a bit to get sorted out... I also asked if they might entertain the idea of making hinge sets to go with the bars. IMO, after seeing where...
Spline profile on FLipPac vs Sway-A-Way torsion bar
OKie Dokie...
I took some very close up photos of the Sway-A-Way (SAW) bar, the original bar (on my functional FlipPac) and of the SAW bar lined up trying to go into my broken FlipPac. The tooth profiles on the spline looks pretty...
Yeah I talked to Quigley... they confirmed it's the dust seal part and not horribly urgent to get fixed. Thanks for the heads up on what it takes to replace - I did not figure it was an easy job ;-)
As the title says... Can someone cut me a FlipPac hinge set (or more)?
A couple members posted up they could do this.... but have not heard anything more.
I would be interested in buying one or more sets and I bet if you put it out there others would be interested "just in case" as well.
let...
Who has rear door ladders?...
Which side did you mount it and why? I'm thinking the drivers side, the one that stays closed more often (at least for me)... but what are the advantages/disadvantages to each side?
Thanks in advance!
