A whole new concept: An Overglobe Vehicle....

I remember reading about this rig in Car and Driver in the 1990s. I think it was a husband/wife team, but there was a messy divorce. In fact, I just Googled it and it says it was sold in 1999 for $200,000 as part of a divorce auction. (Source: Popular Mechanics) - Andy

    Warn Industries Supports Expedition Portal

For an Expedition, I'd opt for at least a 9,500 capacity unit or a ZEON 10 or ZEON 12 due to the weight. The only mounting system we offer for the Expedition is our Hidden Kit, but a ZEON will not fit that unit. You can find our app chart for the Hidden Kit here...

Yes—you can clock the end of the VR winches. VR8000-S is 62 lbs with our synthetic on it. - Andy

    MINI Camper

Saw this on Autoblog today: http://www.autoblog.com/2013/07/21/mini-camper-accessories/ Pretty neat. I do wonder about the weight limit for the rack. Needless to say, I like it! - Andy

is there anyone making a 6000lb winch anymore?

We recently discontinued our M6000 and M6000 SDP (short drum portable). However, there should still be plenty to buy out there. I would also encourage you to look at our VR8000 if you're looking to buy a less-expensive unit. http://www.warn.com/truck/winches/VR8000_winch.shtml Andy

    LR4 Winch

A 9,5000 lb.—10,000 lb. winch would be fine for most applications. - Andy

    LR4 Winch

I can't speak for other companies, but our mounting systems are rated for about 1.5 x gross weight vehicle weight. If you put a 16,500 lb. winch on an LR4, for example, you could potentially damage the mounting system or the vehicle. Then again, it probably wouldn't fit in any pre-made bumper...

I do lose the "sunroof" feature (tilting the forward back back). I can take the top off completely if I want, but I usually just end up taking out the side and rear windows. - Andy
