haha, your not the first to suggest that, I wear shoes when I am plasma cutting, but welding in the dead of summer you will alot of times catch me in flip flops, I recently learned if you wear shoes there is less to clean when you take a shower after fabricating haha.
just watched the little video clip, the red YJ tub trailer on boggers they show is the one I had seen online that made me want to build one haha. I never knew there were that many running around, that show makes it sound like everyone had one haha.
The tub deminsions are 3'x4' in the main...
when did this thing air? We started this buildup in February and it took until May to finish because gathering parts was a long process. The one thing i dont like about how they did theirs is that they lost about 6" of tub space by joining them like that, and you have to weld up the...
the waggy is my roomates its an 86 that we used BJs spring over and shackle flip kit on with 4" BJs springs, and its on a 14bolt rear with an 8 lug chevy 44 front on 37 procomp ETs on 17s. It has a 360 bored out to about 390 with a built turbo 400 tranny. The tranny shifts stupidly hard for...
this picture shows how we had it loaded for most of the trip and it handles well. The only thing I would like to add is a holder for a jerry can and water can. The trailer holds a suprising amount of equipment, plus the cooler is on the front so you dont have to take up space putting a cooler...
Thanks for the compliments guys, this place is pretty cool, I'll make sure to let yall know how it holds up on its adventures.
I am currently working on a 3 axis hitch because the ball hitch binds to much offroad.
and it will eventually have a bed cover over it that clips on like a duster on...

pics after the raptor liner, i'll try to get some in the daylight soon. her maiden voyage is this weekend to uwharrie. still havent gotten the offroad hitch finished up yet.

Painting the frame with "bedliner"
body work to smooth out the seam
in this pic you can see how the front half of a frame is a different hight than the rear, so there is a gap there, we will cover it with diamond plate later...
first we painted it black...
but we didnt like the murdered...
Dont have many pics of the frame build...but here are a few we did take. we made the body attach with 12 1/2" bolts to the frame....so I dont think its coming off..
mockup with the cooler and possible spare tire mount location
CJ tailgate mockup, its just sitting there
finishing up...
this was the first time we jammed them together...the fit was pretty good for a first cut with no trimming...
sanded it down and getting it trimmed up and tacked together
you can see how the inside of the tubs line up
starting the arduous task of welding sheetmetal together...
ground...
Then we had to cut it in half and basically like a puzzle make two halves that would match up and cover all the gaps that two tubs make when they go together... thats why the front cap is so funny shaped... and why the cut has an angle at the bottom, to fill in the old fender opening...
