i would highly suggest building your own frame, we were able to build ours so that the tub sits lower than it would with a stock frame and we still have more ground clearance. plus you can mount your tank up higher and put it infront of the axle if you want.
I have a Dana 30 and Dana 35 for sale out of my 01 TJ. It was geared about 2 years ago with 4.56 and I had a detroit truetrac limited slip installed at the same time. I'm asking $750 for the pair but will consider offers. located in Clemson, SC.
got a 6 gal water can for the trailer and found some more pictures from the last trip.
a switchback on the trails
I need to get a closeup of our 3axis hitch, it was super simple to make and it works great.
we were running about 10 psi or so in the tires and we did manage to blow a bead...
we do plan to make a bumper with a hitch, but i dont think we will do a swingout, its just to much weight back there that we dont need.
the shipping labels were removed from the axle that is a pirate4x4.com sticker:victory:
you mean this sticker?
awesome idea with the fuel tank guys, we are trying to decide whether to make a sceptor can mount or do an under trailer tank using a stock cj/tj/yj tank.
only downfall to having a permanent tank on the trailer is that we use this trailer for picking up stuff at lowes, for packing stuff to go...
i would also suggest getting the bolts at a hardware store, when i build xj bumpers i usually just go pick up 3 new ones that are an inch longer.
one place i have found that has pretty good deals on parts is
http://rockauto.com/
our trailer doesnt weigh much and on the trail we usually run them at 8psi to eliminate the bouncing over rocks...seems to handle well at that pressure, then on the street we only run 20 psi.
We are running mts on our trailer for two reasons. When the trailer is following you down a muddy hill, I want it to track behind me not slide around...and its easy to find peoples old mts they are selling/giving away once they reach 1/4 tread so we got ours for free.
as for rolling...
actually just found them, its a rockhard4x4, they started making a similar design right about when jeeperman went under
http://www.rockhard4x4parts.com/rearbumper.html
picked up a contico pro tuff bin for the trailer. and another action packer.
I think with these we wont have to cap the top because we can now put all our dry storage in these and then still stack firewood in the trailer.
