My 07 Tacoma was going to be the light duty camper. I have an 81 that was built for more difficult stuff.
Well.... things got a little out of control thanks to All-Pro and their LT give-away competition. The 07 is really nice on the long trips though.
if you're using the heat gun probably do circles with the gun and have a spray bottle of water to cool the surface so the plastic doesn't shine or bubble but the heat will get deep into the plastic.
circle heat... spray... circle heat.... spray... form.
I have to do this with mine as well.
This came up from the states into Canada. There was an expert on the subject a time ago that said to control burn the infected area which at the time seemed like a massive amount of trees. But now in hindsight, control burn of those trees would have saved a whole lot more! Government maybe...
What if you went with some canvas for the colder months. Pieces that have snaps around the edges that snap to your bed roof and to your bed sides.
Perhaps even some windows in the middle that have that fly netting on the inside of the window so you can see out. Then even sew on canvas...
It really boils down to time and place. Depends on the location and what you have around you. Depends on the temperature outside and if your clothes are wet from snow... etc. etc. etc. Location, weather and temperature will dictate how large a fire needs to be. Given that, this becomes a...
It depends on the location.
When there's people around or it's OHV then it's a hand saw.
If it's super remote and need to cut deadfall for more than two days of wood then it's the Stihl.

Future upgrades will be LC Engineering 22R/E Long block, bobbed bed, a rack to hold the RTT on the back, and Marlin's 5" springs in the rear to hold the weight.
Other than that she's still...
Hey thank you!... love your Tacoma as well... kinda creeped on your profile!
Come join the Canadian invasion.. CT4WD.com!
I think the current Tacoma being produced in the states might have a slight effect.
The new Tacoma is wider.. which makes it hard to peer out the window, but working on...
The size of the Tacoma now is comparable to the previous gen Tundra. The aftermarket support is definitely stronger on the Tacoma side of things which will allow for better prices and options.
The quad cab Tacoma is really nice with the short box option. We didn't get an Off-Road package...
one dirty pot plus hot water and bio-soap cleans all the other dishes. One clean pot with clean water does the rinsing and a good wipe down. Dirty water gets tossed into the edges of the fire pit. Making sure we're at least 100' away from any nature water source.
hehe... hey Doc!
Few things:
-15/-20 bag. Go down filled and breathable. Some synthetics are ok, the main issues is the breathability of the nylon or fabric that is used. CoastMountain sometimes has sales on bags. They had a -20 Kelty bag for $100! I use a -30 bag down bag which works great...
