The Rio Grande, or Rio Bravo del Norte as its known in Mexico; rises in the western part of the Rio Grande National Forest in the U.S. state of Colorado. The river is formed at Stony Pass, by the joining of several streams at the base of Canby Mountain in the San Juan Mountains, just east of the...

ARB Fridge in Trailer or Tow Vehicle (Durability)?

Exactly. I don't have one yet, but I'm looking at installing one in my pop-up in the future and I'm already looking at possible locations and that has been my number 1 concern so far, good fresh air flow. Those familiar with refrigeration systems know that your condenser dissipates the heat...

They are pretty easy, even though the photos don't actually show some of the more difficult parts, any stock 4x4 can do them. Time and weather prevented us from doing some of the harder trails, but God allowing we'll come back next year to do those exclusively.

Post favorite pics of your rig and trailer

Yes. I replaced the factory 1500lb axle with a 3500lb square tube axle and installed Jeep Cherokee stock leaf springs soa, also shocks with helper coils. It worked great on ruts, rocks and washboard roads. Build thread: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/147451-Coleman-Taos-build

The SoCal Teardrop Solar Panel & Fridge Install

Great job. I'm looking at doing that to my pop in the future and this helps a lot. The only concern I'd have it's about the fridge, I don't see how the heat would vent out.

Fleetwood Neon Modified for off road

Great job! I like that awning concept, I'll have to look into it more as I need to replace mine. Are you going to bolt them up, besides gluing?

-Thanks Mykh!- The following day we continued with our adventure on the San Juan Mountains and went to some high mountain passes and lakes well above the tree line, around an altitude of 11,000 ft., after that it was all alpine tundra with beautiful flowering plants and grass at the beginning...

We finally were able to realize our dream jeep trip to the San Juan Mountains and the Rio Grande headwaters. The plan was to run some of the trails in the San Juans for the first three days and then run to Stony Pass, find the Rio Grande headwaters , collect water from it and follow the Rio...

Just updating this thread. I finally had a chance to really test my pop with a long trip to the San Juan mountains in Colorado. The handling on the highway was excellent, even on high winds, it tracked well and no sway at all. Off-road I took it to the Bandora mine where we camped the first...

COOPER DISCOVERER - Trying to enter the Maze of Canyonlands ending in failure

It all depends on the type of wheeling and type of terrain you're driving, but that's Jeeping, or maybe I should say Off-roading 101 and it applies from backcountry/overlanding driving to rock crawling. You mostly air down because you get more traction, but there are also more positive side...
