Finishing up with the inside, here's the sink dropped in. The floor is also complete.
Another view of the bed area and a little closer look at the sink.
Looking from the front down into the bed and the sink area.
The step is finished for the door way. You can see the door is attached...
Working on the inside now. The paneling is in and the bed frame is down.
A look at the other side where the entrance is to the right. There will also be a sink on the left side and storage cabinets above the slide out.
The frame for the sink and an access door for under the bed.
A look...
Some more progress, this is how the roof will open. If you look on the front left side behind the slide out you can see the door way and a step up at the bottom.
Another shot of the roof open.
The roof closed and you can see the door way a little better.
A shot of the rear of the trailer...
For my last rig I used a Camp Chef Sherpa Table it worked great for us. Four bags you can label to store your gear in and a table top. If folds up and is easy to move from one rig to another depending on what you are doing.
Some more progress this shows the slide out for the kitchen, it will hold a cooler or frig and a stove top. You can see the water tank in this picture and where it will be.
Here is the cooler and the stove top laid in position.
Here is the slide out inside the trailer.
So on this...
A few more pictures of the progress, enjoy. The skeleton is about done and the axel is on. The wheels are inside the trailer and not to the outsides, this allows the inside of the trailer to be to be wider for the bed.
Another shot of the frame, it lets you see the total size of the...
No drawings, but yes it will have a pop up top on one side like the old VW vans.
Yes it is for Scott so the pop up will be helpful since he is over six foot tall, that's also the reason for the CA king bed.
So this is the beginning of the latest trailer. It will be a hybrid of previous build. Some of the requirements are:
Enclosed trailer
California king bed
Be able to stand up in
Fit in a standard garage
Keep the weight down
On board water and power
Pull out kitchen
Framed out the trailer...
We will be at the Safari this year. Scott will be debuting his latest build at the Safari, it is over the top. It will be the first trip for the rig. I'm getting ready to post the build.
We took the trailer out last weekend for five days and it worked great.
The ARB awning and room on the passenger side.
Our set up.
Cooking work out great.
We had a good crowd of folks camping with us.
Putting the final touches on the trailer. Installing an extendable flag pole.
Adding a track system to the front rack along the diamond plate.
The driver's side has a road shower mounted on the roof rack.
The passenger side has an ARB awning.
Of course a must for every trailer, the...
So the paint job is complete and the roof rack is installed. Left and right shots.
A shot of the rear.
All that's left are the small details. Less than two weeks until the first trip with it.
It's time to paint the trailer so here are the paint prep pictures. It will be orange on the sides, black in the front diamond plate and accessories and white on the top front and back. The orange will match my jeep.
The water fill and the shore power are taped off here.
This is the rear...
The rear kitchen door is mounted.
The trim is mounted around the edges. Side views with the lights installed.
The fan is installed in the top, ran a test of the fan and it works great. The fan is a three speed forward and three speed reverse, it moves a lot of air.
Both sides and the top is skinned.
The window is cut out and fitted.
A shot of the passenger side completed.
You may be able to see the wires sticking out in the front and both sides, it's for the lights to be mounted. Next is the trim then painting the sides and top. Still...
One side of the trailer skinned.
This is the inside of the rear hatch with the light installed and the latch at the bottom.
We will be skinning the rest of the trailer this weekend.
The kitchen is now finished, the slide outs are done and the cabinets in the back are complete.
A drawer was in stalled above the fridge.
The only thing left to do is skin the outside, put in the doors, window and fan then paint it. Picking up the metal today.
A few updates, the kitchen is almost finished now. The wall between the counter and cabinets is installed.
The top cabinets now have doors and are complete.
The slides for the frig and the stove are complete.
The bottle opener just came in.
PS the top picture is not a microwave...
