    Land Rover Ideas for Grenadiers

A few more nice trailers made from the back of Land Rovers. Imagine a trailer that matches the Grenadier body.

    Land Rover Ideas for Grenadiers

It's not uncommon here in the U.S. to make a trailer out of an old Jeep tub. And in the U.K trailers are sometimes made from Defender/Series bodies. Here's one: Also notice the extended roof rack on the Defender above. Because the rear of a Defender tub and the rear of the Grenadier...

    Outfitting my Grenadier Trialmaster

Overland Outfitters has started shipping from the first production run of the narrow door pocket panels with a single large pocket. They say all orders placed so far should be shipped within a week or so as production continues. I was asked to install a black set on both doors to do some...

    Outfitting my Grenadier Trialmaster

Overland Outfitters has wanted to do more Toyota stuff for quite a while, but they (and I, as an independent designer) don't have access to any Toyota vehicles to use for design purposes and test fittings.

Back to the ground anchor topic from the prior post... here's another way a ground anchor could be made - when I'm on the trail I carry 4 aluminum sand ladders. They could be adapted to be ground anchor plates, which would eliminate having to carry a specific ground anchor plate - only the...

Grenadier OWNERS Thread - Answers by Owners to questions from Everyone Else!

Maybe this will help, all it does is get you into the locked vehicle. I assume the electronics will fire up because that happens every time you open the door: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1FZyemcmLp/

    Land Rover Ideas for Grenadiers

Yesterday I posted a short article about bags for the inside of storage boxes. They were from a company called FlatDog and since I hadn't heard of them before I went to the company's web site to see what else they had. I found this ground anchor: The only ground anchors I've seen in the...

    Land Rover Ideas for Grenadiers

Another idea from a Land Rover magazine to follow on from my previous posts about aluminum boxes - inner bags for the rooftop boxes. Seems like a good idea for aluminum boxes so gear doesn't rattle around in them or dent the box from the inside.

    Outfitting my Grenadier Trialmaster

This morning's quick experiment - a few years ago I made some MOLLE panels for my Jeeps and this morning I came across one I hadn't used. It was the right size to fit on the side of the Grenadier's cargo area so I adapted it to hang there. It hangs/removes in seconds, could be useful when...

More on aluminum storage boxes. Not sure if the pricing is the same with all resellers of these, but I found the 29 liter box on a U.K site for 89 GBP (about $115) and on a U.S. site for $215. I guess that's why they're more popular over there than they are here. That pricing makes the ones...

    Land Rover Ideas for Grenadiers

I posted a few photos of Land Rovers with cargo boxes up top earlier in the thread. I showed a box I use on my rack that I found on eBay. I find boxes on the rack to be very useful. One option would be to make up a box like the one I showed a cardstock mockup of earlier in the thread...

    Land Rover Ideas for Grenadiers

A project I did that was inspired by this small piece in a Land Rover magazine: Seeing that in the magazine inspired me to sew my own, I made a two but only one is hanging from the edge of the tent in this photo: At first I used "awning rope" to hang them. Awning rope is a rubber...

    Land Rover Ideas for Grenadiers

This post is a bit off topic and isn't really a "Land Rover Idea for a Grenadier" but it did come from the UK Land Rover magazines and it's more like a "Land Rover Idea for a Trip". Expeditions... in every issue of the magazines there are articles on expeditions somewhere in the world - many...

    Land Rover Ideas for Grenadiers

Given the similarity of the Grenadier's headlight bezels and those of the Defender, maybe this project would be useful to keep the headlight lenses clean. It's a nice implementation, it only works when the windshield washer is activated and the headlights are on.

    Outfitting my Grenadier Trialmaster

I'm not much of a fan of the Grenadier factory tool roll - yes it holds the critical tools for tire changing plus a few others but it doesn't really close nicely and while it does have a few extra slots for tools you might add, it closes even more poorly if you add anything. I'm thinking of...

    Land Rover Ideas for Grenadiers

Yes I could add more panels to slide out from the sides but I've been using this same solar panel for years on the Jeeps and it keeps up with campsite demand (fridge, kitchen power, etc.) in almost all sun situations so my experience says another panel isn't necessary. Also I've installed a...

    Land Rover Ideas for Grenadiers

Mounting solar panels on the roof is fairly common, here's one that looks like a flexible panel: The solar panel on this series Land Rover is mounted under the front of the roof rack and slides out for use: I liked that idea so I implemented a slide-out solar panel for my roof rack...

    Land Rover Ideas for Grenadiers

Places to carry a second spare? For some expeditions, I like to carry a second spare tire. For example, when I did the Dalton Highway up to the Deadhorse on the Arctic Ocean, I carried an extra because word is that there's lots of metal junk along the 250 mile unpaved stretch from Coldfoot...
