Funny, was at Schofield Pass, which was blocked by a massive snow slide that was passable with ATVs and some balls, and some dude stopped me and said, "That's a Land Rover - should have no problem!"

I saw two other D5s on the trails above Crested Butte in the same day in 2018. Saw an LR4 and a FFRR in the outback of Wyoming the day of the Eclipse in 2017, the week I got my D5. I saw an early 90s RR, no mods other than MT's at the old South Colony Lakes trailhead before they closed the...

So I wonder if it's an attachment point for some future modification that would require different placement of the steering arm.... The good news is it looks removable.

Maybe, maybe not. @soflorovers noted in his IG there's something on the front hub-side wheel assembly called a "knuckle extender", which looks like a block of aluminum that takes up quite a bit of room inside the wheel and isn't really connected to anything. Nobody is really sure what it does...

It's supposed to be rage and hate directed at the vehicle, and counter-arguments to that - not rage and hate directed at others. I think that's @Christian P.'s point.

Not to hijack the thread but I find it ironic such a progressive state (well, where most of the people are, anyway...) has such a regressive tax structure. Or maybe they suspended that in the CHAZ too? ??

I'm interested to see if Rivian can live up to their range promises and if their price stays on the same order of magnitude. If both remain as promised, there would be a compelling EV option to this group as well. Not going to take it on a 1,000 mile Mongolia traverse, but a weekend in the...

There is apparently a "knuckle extender" that sits on the wheel side of the suspension- nobody seems to know what it is or does, but it may be removable, in which case it looks like the 18" would fit. Otherwise 19" is the smallest you'll get.

It was likely the quickest and easiest mod they could make. While yes, the D7x is different than the D7U the Disco is based on, they may be identical from a lift rod perspective. I personally don't find lift rods desirable but what's encouraging to me is that a significant US aftermarket...

Oh pleasepleasepleaseplease.... If it's just starting testing now, likely we won't see it in the US until the mid-cycle refresh. If they've been quietly testing it in other models and have already submitted certification documents, it might be as early as 2022 MY....

there are actually a LOT more posts on various Jeep forums with a lot more "common"/"me too" catastrophic problems across people who post, many with brand new vehicles still under warranty, than I ever found for L494 and now L462. I specifically excluded reports from vehicles that were not of...

Lots of the same for many brands. I read all negative reviews I could find of those posted at the time and looked for patterns, because if you just read consumer advice sites for the reviews, the vast majority of all of them will be negative because that's where people go when they have...
