The factory rack doesn't mask the satellite radio antenna, it looks like frontrunner one doesn't have the notch at the trailing edge to keep the antenna exposed.
A friend of mine has a frontrunner rack on his LR3, there are a couple of small details about the rack that he doesn't like. The...
One of the best things about the D5 is the integrated parking brake actuators on the rear calipers instead of the tunnel mounted unit of the LR3/4. I wonder if the D5 calipers can be mounted on an earlier truck?
If JLR decides to bring a diesel in (which is not at all certain according to sources there) ... I'd be happy with the 240 HP four cylinder version of the diesel myself but the six would be outstanding.
I like white Land Rovers so Fuji White will work for me but wrapping it is a pretty good...
It's the only bright color in the whole line up so that's my choice as well. One thing Land Rover could learn from Jeep and Toyota is the interesting choices of colors that those other brands offer.
I'll take you guys word for it on the 17's - all of my experience is with even number tire sizes. My LR3 had 19" wheels on it when I bought it and there was crap offered back then (about 8 years ago) so I bought a set of 18" wheels for it. My old Land Rovers have 16's and the D5 has 20's.
No there is an 18" alloy wheel available as well. I don't think that 19's are offered, which is fine because the selection of good 19" tires is very limited ( as well as 17" tires). Tire manufacturers are starting to offer some good 20" tire choices.
I was looking at one of the Trek D5's at my local dealership last week and was hugely impressed with the rock sliders you guys built for those trucks. My 5'2" wife with a bad knee has trouble climbing up into the D5 even when it is in access mode, I think I could sell her on the "side steps" to...
I test drove a 2020 Velar with the 4 cylinder gasoline powered Ingenium engine and it wasn't too bad. It was hard to tell much on a short test drive but it didn't have the torque of the TDV6 - it's hard to match 450 ft-lbs of torque. I was really looking forward to driving the Ingenium six...
This.. I have two "real" Land Rovers - 1966 & 1967 Series IIA's, a Defender 90 diesel, and a TDV6 Discovery 5. I like the new Defender - especially the interior - and think that it will be a great long distance usable truck. I just hate that they aren't offering the diesel engine in the 110. I...
I'm a real trailer geek and I've looked at the Patriot trailers at Overland Expo East very thoroughly. I was very impressed with the design and build quality as well as Matt & his crew.
I'm particularly intrigued by the X1-N model - I'd sort of like to have a hard shell roof top tent like an...
Latest shots of my 1967 Series IIA restoration project. Waiting on some parts from Trevor to install the driveshafts and exhaust system. The radiator and fuel tank are at the local radiator shop for cleaning and coatings.
Its about time to start working on the body parts.
The range and torque of a diesel make it desirable - and premium fuel is more expensive than diesel by about ten cents a gallon. The six cylinder non-MHEV may be an acceptable option if Californistan is successful in killing the evil diesel in this country.
But we don't want the added complexity...
I was thinking that if enough of us prospective new Defender owners email landroverusa.com telling them that we really want the diesels here it might make them consider it. I responded back to one of the updates the company sends me pointing out that the typical potential new Defender owner is a...
