Incapable? Explain. What size wheels are required for leaving pavement?

From his perspective, sure, he's "elevating design" within Land Rover. Not hard to do since before that you could draw one on a beach with a stick.

LOL...1990s...at least the Kids These Days aren't emulating that decade. He's always been up on the current fashions. You know, as a designer.

Not saying the Blazer or the Impala are great cars. If Ford made that little cart, then it's a Ford. They can call it the Bronco if they want to, it's their trademark.

? yeah, they clearly didn't do any engineering at all. In an article where the topic is design, you highlight all of the ways in which the lead designer discusses design. ? Show me where the Defender's design impairs its function as compared to the previous generations. You do realize that...

Porsche enthusiasts said the same thing about an all-wheel drive water-cooled 911. Corvette enthusiasts are saying the same thing about the C8. Chevy Impala and Blazer fans said the same thing about those vehicles. It's their trademark, they can use it on a wheelbarrow if they wanted to.

Economics, bruh. Toyota, FCA, Ford, and Nissan each make millions of work vehicles globally - hell, Ford sells a million each year in the US alone. Naturally they can build them cheaper and price them accordingly for global sale as work appliances. Land Rover doesn't want to claw back the...

I guess videos and 9 laps of a 500 mile track in Namibia reported on by every reputable automotive news outlet pretty much in the world isn't proof....

The majority of the working-class Defenders you are thinking of from romantic pictures of the African Bush or the Himalaya are ancient machines that likely have very little original Defender bits other than the badge. They were likely left behind after UN relief work or geological survey work...

I don't think people who need to put dead sheep in the back would buy an SUV. I think they'd much rather have a cheap pickup, and already do - they are much better at that sort of thing anyway. This is an overlanding/expedition vehicle that, unlike its predecessor, is a joy to daily drive on...

24-hour sand driving record in a Discovery 5

Another carefully curated off-road course overseen by hordes of special support people and vehicles off camera waiting with the necessary winches and craft service tables full of bonbons and such. :ROFLMAO:

Lucky for you it's rated to tow 8700lbs 7716lbs with the P300, and the GVWR is over 14,500 lbs like the Disco. The P400 spec is 8,201lbs with GVWR over 15,000lbs. I see Tacos and 4Runners with lower ratings towing 5th wheels or toy haulers over high passes all the time, and they have lower...

I think it's fair to say that a 4cyl tuned to the ragged edge of its performance envelope doesn't inspire confidence in long-term durability under constant heavy-duty use, but I think nigh on 300hp and 300lb-ft of turbocharged power is plenty for occasionally towing an average overland trailer...

Don't confuse turbocharging with supercharging. NA engines and any engine compressing atmospheric pressure such as a true supercharger will lose compression proportional to altitude. Turbocharging takes exhaust gases at far higher than atmospheric pressure and compresses *that* along with...

What vehicle can you find where the majority of them are on the road - or trail - after 250,000 miles? Sure as ******** it ain't Jeep or Yota, not is it Ford or Chevy or Ram or ************** Mahindra. It ain't even Hyundai, Subaru, or Volvo. Jesus, talk about an unrealistic expectation.

"Post warranty". Those are the operative words. Post. Warranty. Per the article, four years old in 2016, reported in 2017 for both your citations - so let's be generous and say these were all 2012 models of the new platform, which would only have been the case in non-NAS specs. So your data...

I'm not making any guarantees or projections and have been quite clear in that. I'm simply replying to your hyperbolic concerns that Land Rover is an unreliable brand - in fact it's a brand that has had the farthest to go since its acquisition by Tata and has indeed made massive strides - in...

What issues are they having with complex suspension systems? I would expect a high number of recalls and warranty claims but I can find no evidence of widespread issues on vehicles made since 2012 outside normal wear and tear on high mileage vehicles. Please provide examples.
