M2 Freightliner Ambulance Conversion Project. 2007 Crew Cab

No access. I was trying to put the 90 braces on the corner. Slide them sort of sideways across the ceiling panel and get them to turn down when the got there. Stupid idea actually.

M2 Freightliner Ambulance Conversion Project. 2007 Crew Cab

Well I ended up with 100' of red and blue PexA (apparently it is supposed to be more flexible. I agree that it is more flexible than schedule 80 but it's still a PITA to turn corners with). After 2 days of trying to run wiring and pipe work down the passengers side of the cabin I am about 3 days...

That should be fun. But remember the rules of the virtual world. If there is no photos it's just alternate facts (I.e. Didn't happen). [emoji1]

M2 Freightliner Ambulance Conversion Project. 2007 Crew Cab

So now I need some schooling. I have never been that big a fan of PEX for campers. For my simple needs I have always used high pressure hoses and either good quality crimp clamps or stainless hose clamps. But now I will be pushing hot water around I am wondering if PEX may be the way to go...

M2 Freightliner Ambulance Conversion Project. 2007 Crew Cab

One outcome of the need to go and get an inspection done is that I have started to actually plan some of the major system changes. On this rig we are going away from having water storage in jugs to a full blown water, hot water, shower and sink setup. So we will have a "pure" potable water tank...

M2 Freightliner Ambulance Conversion Project. 2007 Crew Cab

Well my troubles continue. I have been battling the oxygen thieves at the MVD again. Last trip (3rd trip) they told me that even though my truck is titled as a motorhome it is not a motorhome because it didn't have all the "stuff" in it. But when I got the "stuff" in it to bring it back and they...

    How tall is too tall?

High enough to comfortably stand up in. Seriously having to kink your neck a little as you are moving about sucks after a while. You will be spending way more time inside the box than you will worrying about "will it fit". Also remember that most of the places you will go will be serviced by...

Its a dream but a good dream !

Also if you need them I have a set of seats from some minivan or other that worked well in both my Freighliners (dual armrests, so posh). Just took them out of the dual cab to put in a sofa/bed. You can have them for the wholesale price of $0.

Its a dream but a good dream !

No such thing as too big for expedition campers :). I think the proportions are fairly good and there are so many more problems when you add all the moving bits for a popup. Although you could lay the front edge of the roof back a bit and turn it from a brick into a streamlined brick. :Wow1...

    E450 super single conversion?????

This should answer a few of your questions. The other choice is running HMMV rims and tires. There is a thread on here somewhere about that as well. http://forum.expeditionportal.com/threads/77696-New-shoes-for-a-fat-pig-(DRW-to-SRW)

1999 Freightliner FL60 Camper Phoenix AZ

Page 6 again. For those that are interested in turning this into 4WD I could do a deal with the axles and rims I have sitting in my back yard. Axletech 4000 (9t) steer axles (2 off) never been used. Planetary axles with air lockers. Since this truck has hydraulic disk brakes it is a relatively...

NPR 4wd conversion and camper build thread.

Of just go real big and get a set of the narrow MRAP Axletech 4000. Portals, lockers and basically unbreakable in expo/domestic use. Plus the price is right.

7.3 Diesel what should be replaced

Number 3 (I think) needs the firewall modified or the engine mount removed and the engine tilted so it can come out. Pulling the injectors is not a problem but removing all the crap to get to them is. If you can do it without removing the solenoids you are much better off. They just don't seem...

    Dodge Ram 5500 motorhome

Just a tip for when you head down from Sedona. Continue taking 89A through Jerome to Prescott and then down 89 through Wickenburg. Much nicer than the I17 and there are some nice corners to try out the trucks handling :)

Buying & Building a Medium Ambulance into an RV – The FAM-BULANCE

Being a lazy bugger I use one of the air powered vac bleeders and have a bottle that attaches to the reservoir to keep it topped up. Essential for the trucks because there is a lot of fluid between the cylinder and the calipers.

OK I am going to agree/disagree with both of you :) I like Cummins engines and have worked with them all over the world. Just about any mine site in the world will have someone that knows the engines and parts are (sort off) available anywhere. The big winner with the ISC/ISL engines is the...
