The snowy ones are Lake Mono and Crowley Lake. We arrived just after a very unseasonable snowfall (its pretty dry here in the winter).
The dry ones are somewhere north east of lake mead on a very lonely road.
Yeah, the sterling units are pretty inefficient, and seem to be marginal for cooling. There was a guy over on the sprinter forum who 3d printed an external adapter for a blower/fan, as it was the only way to get full output in arizona summers.
We are feeling the grey of winter up here...
Might be worth seeing if there are any pending lawsuits against the company/LLC/individual.
No knowledge of this company, but sociopaths/narcissists can be very charming and believable. This is less important if you know your way around a shop, or have the experience to catch BS. More so...
Not having children, and hating desk jobs has cultivated a certain skillset. :ROFLMAO:
Plus when my friends and brothers were out chasing girls, I was in the garage trying to keep my car running.
Here are some shots of the sexy new driveshafts.
I have been having some irregular and rough torque convert clutch engagement since the trans overhaul. I ordered the sonnax TCC damper valve repair kit. The valve body needs to be removed and split in half to install the retainer ring...
Oh look a MAN! :ROFLMAO:
In case you haven't figured it out, the typical cause of the whistling noise is this gap. Its essentially the resonance slot in a whistle, just really big. The easy fix is to lower the light bar, but you don't appear to have a way to do that. Some aluminum...
I am still finding Australian dirt in the strangest places. :ROFLMAO: Pulled a full pound out of a body cavity the other day... At least your truck doesn't have to many closed spaces where it can get caught.
Hey folks, a couple quick updates on upcoming changes.
I discovered I have a leak on the passenger side slider window. My guess is a small gap in the sealant attaching the window adapter, but I will investigate.
Jen has finished the proof of concept code and circuit design for the fridge...
Another in the nearly finished saga. I had 2 new driveshafts made by a nearby-ish shop. Good quality shafts btw. Vibration is gone. Well I still have some TC clutch shudder, but that's a different thread.
Did a bit of front end maintenance. I bought some Meyle sprinter rack boots. They...
Indeed, a friend hated his dodge with one. I have liked this 9.5" okay so far. Other than my own screwups, and the lack of a aftermarket pinion spacer kit. The shafts are pretty meaty, bearing size is okay, parking brake is reasonable to adjust. I wish it had a drain plug, meh. I had...
Yeah, thankfully the shaft bearing surface is actually okay, so If I need to go back to the original bearing I probably can. Just need to epoxy and smooth the seal surface in that case. I measured the shaft bearing surface and it was about 0.0004-0.0005 under spec, surprisingly. Most every...
I think you may have better luck billing it as an ambulance. Use the new sale value for the ambulance as a reference. The other guys insurance should pay a evaluator to research what the van was worth. This means looking for comparable sales in the last few months. In anticipation of this, I...
Howdy folks, doing some winter maintenance during a layover for a bit. A few things needed adressed.
1: I slightly modified the GM parking brake lever arms to make them shorter, parking brake much improved.
2: Both my rear axle seals were leaking. Ended up having 0.01" vertical play (not...
Those are pretty similar to the ones I had made. Note that you can have a fair bit of material removed from the inside of the plate to make it lighter. If you have access to a fabrication shop, you can have a 1-2" wide rim rolled and welded on. Each wheel can be made slightly smaller than the...
Drop Van Compass an email and tell them what you are looking for. They have a variety of suspension changes available to dramatically improve the factory ride on heavy vans. They have recently changed some of their offerings, so I can't recommend anything specific.
Yeah, the same sprinter. Though the suspension has changed since we did the shipping.
My van has a roof vent, which is the highest spot. It weighs near the gross weight limit, and it was lifted 2" from north american stock.
T1N sprinter 4x4s are 3" taller than north american T1Ns factory...
