Honda sales are off pretty good in the USA and globally in 2024 about -15% from 2023, I don't really understand how Nissan (-4% from 2023) could help that.

I think that it would have only worked if Mitsubishi was in on the deal, and they bailed out a couple weeks ago. It is going to be bad for Nissan.

We had an Element back in the day, how much does the loaded rack on the roof effect highway MPG? IIRC ours without a rack got around 22 MPG highway, but that was a long time ago. We bought it new in 2003.

I ran both KYB and Bilstiens over the years on my old '05. I would not run KYBs again. Michael & Chris are correct about the springs, replace those too, even with new stock is going to be better than 20 year old ones. I have heard good things about Konis - but have no first hand experience...

I built my own door for my square drop, took a couple generations to get it right. If I build another camper, I think I'd buy a door. My time is still expensive.

Yeah, Payload is 1,870 lbs and towing capacity is 9,500 lbs. There is a trailering package that bumps the towing up to 1,970 PL / 13,300 Tow lbs depending on doors/bed length configuration.

If I were to build a 1/2 ton it would be a 3.0l diesel GM. Buddy of mine has a 2022 Silverado 1500 crew cab 4x4 with a topper and he claims 34 mpg highway @68 mph, 22mpg highway @78 mph loaded.
