    Travel tools for rental car?

I totaled a rental Chevy Colorado several years ago. No injuries, slid off the highway on glare ice into a pole. It was a sucky experience. I did have a rider on my personal insurance for the rental (in those days I was renting a vehicle almost weekly for work) which saved me a bunch of $$...

    Travel tools for rental car?

It would be the liability / personal injury portion of the insurance I'd worry about most. Paying for a damaged vehicle is one thing, paying for a damaged person is in a completely other ballpark. I'm sure the litigators would have fun.

cell phone, its a rental. Besides, are you even allowed to be off-road in a rental? What about insurance? A lot of rental agreements prohibit even driving on gravel roads/

BEWARE of knock off Yaesu on eBay!

Interesting! I do have a real FT-2900R new in box that I bought 6 or 7 years ago that is sitting on a shelf if you are interested in it, I would surely part with it. Was going to put it in my old '92, but ended up selling it before the radio was installed.

    GFC or Vegabond Drifter?

Yes, somewhere around 100" length up top would give a gap enough to stand while keeping a 75 to 80" sleeping surface stationary.

    What tires for 3rd Gen?

I had the first generation WildPeaks on my '05 and thought they were very loud. But these AT3 are much different. I have the milder version Falken Wildpeak AT Trail on my '14 Outlander and they are fantastic. Very quiet and great traction. Lots of progress over the years at Falken.

WTB: Montero Headlight & Window Switches for MK1/Gen1

Well they are 35 years old +/- and only around 70k total of them were imported to USA across all model years including Raider and Montero name plates. Not many left on the road, and with that small of a number, aftermarket is very limited unless the part is used across several vehicle models...

WTB: Montero Headlight & Window Switches for MK1/Gen1

Headlight Switch - Are you looking for the entire multi function switch cluster? MB543920 MB543921 without cruise, without headlamp washer. I don't think there are any new OEM or new aftermarket available any longer. Outside chance I might have a used one, but I can't check until late next...

    80 Series Maintenance costs?

We were just discussing this at work today. $700 for a monthly payment (or more) what the heck! BTW - repos are up. Its not only wear out, but it is also the 4% of vehicles on the road each year that are in accidents that takes away from the original population. If you had 5,000 new in 1996...

    80 Series Maintenance costs?

Value of Montero - I agree. I had my '05 for 12 years and a lot of miles maybe put 140K on it. Only did PMs to it, never had a problem. Being it was my daily, it was just time to move on and replaced it with a '14 Outlander. I'm shocked at how well I like it. Built in Gifu along side the...
