    HiCountry Offroad Products

I have seen their products up close and had the opportunity to crawl all over a few of their trucks discussing the design and construction process with the owners of the company. As a result I have bumpers on order for my '01 DII. A few things that I found notable: - The owners of the company...

    Spare tire Hi-Lift Mount

I have the SafariGuard and it has always worked very well. I had my jack swiped once and the took the outer plate so I replaced it with some stock steel and welded on a custom shovel holder. I'm not sure if SafariGuard still makes these but I bet you could make your own with little trouble.

RTT Maggiolina and Columbus question to current owners

Pull into camp and find a nice level spot. Take a leisurely walk around your vehicle checking things out after the day's adventure while unclipping the fasteners on your Maggiolina. Step up on your rear tire or bumper and gently crank up your room for the night while carrying on a conversation...

Winch & line used like a tow rope?

Hi Vince, I hope you are well, it's been a while since I've had the pleasure of talking with you! I think you did right, doing what you know is always a safe bet. As I understand it, pulling heavy loads in reverse can cause problems. Most drive lines just aren't engineered for it. Somewhere...

    Volvo Ocean Race 2008/2009

Just when I thought I had forgotten what it feels like to push someone over the line, take the inside at a mark rounding, navigate with no sleep, perform ballet on a wet and moving floor, wear the same clothes for several days at a time in a wet, windy, cold, exhausting and pounding environment...

    REI Outlet Craziness!

No Kidding! I must admit, I purchased one set of bags for Amy - for my truck - and then went back and bought a second set to organize the work stuff in her car, with absolutely no intention of ever allowing the second set to migrate into my vehicle, honestly there would be no room but maybe we...

    REI Outlet Craziness!

I'm pretty excited to try them. We always wind up packing at the last minute and throwing too much into a couple of duffles. I'm hoping that since Max and Charlie are still small with miniature clothes, each one can have one bag for their clothes, and share the third for toys and such. Maybe...

    Disco air springs and spacers...

My 2001 DII has the rear air bags and 2" spacers. I like the system and it performs well on the trail however I don't trust it in the long haul. I have a new set of extra heavy duty OME springs from Expedition Exchange sitting here ready to replace the bags either this week or next week. If you...
