Yea I saw that...pretty cool. It's high in my list. But for now I'm tackling the dual battery and fluid changes. I'm going with a Amsoil signature across the entire truck. For the battery I'm considering The Genesis Off-road Dual system with Odyssey. Any opinions?
Yea actually I made a nifty bracket to accept the D710 brains on top of the JL amp. Like I said there is plenty of room above it. Your Cobra will have no problem fitting in there. I'll take some pics once I get a moment.
Congrats man. You are getting the best JK ever made. Here is a list of things that you are likely going to need to do if you are going with AEV 3.5 or equivalent lift from stock.
-relocate the evap tray next to the rear drive shaft or you will tear the rear boot
-install a new front drive...
Sure I can take one for you. I just mounted it on top of my JL amp under my passenger seat. It defies physics how much space is under these JK seats. Full motion of travel is no factor. I wired the sound output to my audio system which really sounds great. As a helo pilot I like to hear my...
For me the AEV is the way to go. It's light, quiet, and when installed properly is no factor in terms of leaks. The Gobi is a bit massive in my opinion. If taking the hard top off is a must for you then sure go for the Gobi. If not then the AEV is the right choice in my opinion. Either one...
The performance is plenty fine. Sure if we were going for perfect I would trash the JK plastic roof and build a metal one and have nothing but this antenna in the middle sticking up 44". For my purposes it's excellent. There's more to life then just a good ground plane.
Awesome. It's on my list. I have the lock pick for the uconnect 730N. You can set it to automatically switch to a front camera after 7 mph. Or of course you can manually see any camera. This is independent of your video entertainment system.
Alright well after a Thanksgiving weekend worth of work I am happy to say that I finally completed the Kenwood D710A install. I didn't want to give up my coin try to the head unit so after spending quite a bit of time trying to understand the Jeep's plastic dash bits I created a contoured...
I have the AEV rack also. Pollard, my AEV dealer, told me they have a special method for sealing these racks after having some issues also. I'm surprised to hear that the factory was having trouble but I know it can be an issue if not aligned or sealed properly. I did an extensive leak test...
Yes thank you. So after a long drawn out discussion on Bob is the Oil Guy forum, I have concurred that Amsoil is the best oil for the JK. I'll be ordering all fluids from Amsoil. Cheers and thanks!
Hey guys,
I am at 800 miles on my new 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. I have run Red Line 5-30 in my past Land Rover Defender which had flat tappet style engines with great results. Transitioning to this much more modern 3.6 penstar V6 I am wondering what synthetic oil I should use. I...
Alright well the saga is over: They called me this morning to inform me that it was ready. I went over there and found the wiring to be installed neatly and was quite impressed. I asked the "everything is okay man" service rep who told me that of course they tested everything so as not to...
