My 2 year old who's all about Thomas the Train named my trailer "Toby, because he's square". So now the trailer has a proper name, Toby the Turtleback.
I also am happy to update that I have my lifting roof rack working very smoothly now. It takes about 30lbs of force to open and is easy to...
As I said, I'm a simpleton. So I'm assuming because they are wired in parallel the batteries don't care where the connection is coming from. Roger, I'll go KISS and keep it simple stupid.
Thanks for setting me straight.
This does seem like a nice charger, but it actually came uninstalled with the trailer, so I'm working with what I have. Also, the batteries are identical and both brand new with the same resting voltage.
The Powermania guy said yes I should double the leads if I'm hooking it up to one battery...
I have, it doesn't really go into this scenario. They don't demonstrate how to run the power through a shunt. Their parallel wiring scheme for 2 batteries is just one lead per terminal. I called and talked to them today and the very nice gentlemen on the other end stated that I could treat it as...
So just double up the powermanias leads to maximize the amperage of the charger and stick them on the parallel circuit. Thats what I figured, I always like to over complicate things.
Hello to all the electrical gurus out there. I am a simpleton who needs some advice.
I'm currently working on the 12v/110v wiring for my trailer (HERE and I can't figure out how to wire up the following items.)
Victron BMV-712 w/ Shunt
Powermania M230 Dual shore power battery charger
Dual...
Started working on my electronics mount and tongue box pass throughs last night. I figured why re-create the wheel so I replicated the perforated aluminum electronics mount that Turtleback Trailers uses on their factory build outs. I did add 2 1" PVC bulkhead connectors to allow me to pass...
I'm going to route the outlets to the front edge of the tents floor, I'd love to push it past the front edge, but due to the folding tent mechanism I can't or the exhaust would get crushed. I plan on having an exhaust hose that can be attached when the tent is up. I'm not sure if it will be...
Just got all my parts in from Suremarineservices.com very fast shipping!
I think this 90* elbow will work for your needs, it is designed to work with the ducting or straight out of the heater.
It actually fits the piping way better than the heater unit. I'll probably insert metal piping into...
We likely have the same tent, CVT Summit extended Denali. That's a good idea about the annex, but I don't want to have to use the annex to get heat. My tent is set up on a riser platform that lifts the tent 16" to a maximum height of 78" off the ground which is the ideal annex height according...
Wow, did some reading heating PVC is bad stuff. I found www.suremarineservices.com and they had ducting in 10' runs as well as higher quality floor vents. I placed an order and I'll return my all the PVC fittings to home depot.
Thanks for the heads up, really appreciate it.
This is what I was thinking, I'll do more research on the PVC material. The 2" PVC is the same or so close to the propex outlets it's hardly noticeable and the shower drain isn't adding any constrictions. If needed I can do the output hose using the metal propax hosing, and use PVC for the...
I'm going to be permanently installing my propex 2211 under my roof top tent and I'm thinking about using 2” schedule 40 PVC as ducting instead of the metal ducting it came with as I don't have enough length and it'll likely just get crushed. The propex puts out air around 190*F, well...
We won't be staying in this area for much longer, but we've enjoyed JC for a couple years. I've signed with a great company in Wichita KS, we're excited to move our adventures out there and be closer to Colorado. If we don't like Wichita then in a few years we'll likely head back to San Diego.

I know what you're saying, but I don't think here would be enough room between the box and the trailer. I think I'll have to just use a sealant like @Verkstad recommended.
Any particular brand of Urethane you recommend?
I've seen all those, I'm not so much trying to keep liquid out of the ends as I'm trying to keep it from penetrating from the gap into the trailer or the tongue box. I'm thinking about going with the PVC fitting below. I'll drill my hole, silicone the male fitting into the tongue box, bulk up...
Normally, I'd be thinking of a PVC bulkhead connector with plenty of silicone, but my trailer has a 3-5mm gap between the tongue box and the front of the main cabin body so I'm not sure if there is a better solution. I need to pass a number of cables through while keeping it water tight. I'd...
Man, I re-read that and I was totally off with my question...I was just guessing on the size (looked it up it's 1 1/4), basically I mean a large hose fits over a barbed extension on the rear of the piece and a hose clamp holds it in place.
What's the ETA?
