    Smart BatteryProtect LVD

FYI: this just came out, new version of the old BatteryProtect but now w/Bluetooth.. this lets you connect w/Victron App and program it to cut off or re-engage at any voltage you want.. pretty big improvement because the limited programming was my only real complaint...

where are the Porsche cayenne expo builds?

I tuned my 2.0L TDI at under 10k miles and put another 60k miles on it after that and it never had an issue.. post tune was so much better, took away all hesitation and my fuel economy went up dramatically.. Still drove stock, was a modest power upgrade that largely widened the powerband so it...

where are the Porsche cayenne expo builds?

I will take the money for the fix sometime later this year, then I'll promptly reflash the TCU back to original, and flash the ECU to a Malone Stage 2, delete the DPF, AdBlue, EGR and enjoy my increased power and fuel economy while throwing the warranty in the garbage since the only thing's left...

no the original CPO warranty was non transferable good will gesture, you hadda own a Porsche TDI back in 2015 or whenever it was to take advantage of that. A vehicle which has been fixed should currently be under the extended emissions warranty, and is fully transferable.. I think there's a...

where are the Porsche cayenne expo builds?

all the 3.0L TDI's were impacted, the Gen1's (up to 2012) all got buy back offers that were amazing and very few survived, for example 2010MY were getting like $40k+ offers to give it back.. The Gen2 TDI (2013+) didnt get a buy back offer because they were able to make them completely complaint...

Rotopax - Is there something better I should be using?

reviews on rotopax locking mounts seem fairly terrible, it dont look like they used stainless steel or anything corrosion resistant so there are many many reports of people being forced to drill the lock out to recover their fuel.. may be location dependent on exposure to salt stuff and if you...

Tips on prepping a standard vehicle for mild overlanding? (GL 450)

I second the idea of a lil trailer, as for the MB.. the first thing any standard vehicle needs is good tires, some good All Terrains w/matching full sized spare that you rotate in with the rest to keep fresh and in good condition is how I'd start off.. If you got bigger than 18in wheels I'd...

Just joined my local HAM club

APRS is pretty much mandatory around here if you want to join ARES, S&R or 4x4 Recovery teams.. Ive got a D710 and I love it, but im a kenwood guy.. Ive had a ton of Kenwood radios over the years and other than the deaf VHF on my TS2000 I dont have many complaints.

Question to fridge owners - Do you leave it “running” in cold ambient temps?

Engel recommends running em non stop for longevity, both my ARB and Engel are always plugged in.. but I bring em inside in off season for keeping beer and stuff or keep em plugged into shore power when not in field.

Honda EU2000i generator issues (low power output/tripping breaker)

Seafoam it, if it sat for 3 years w/out being ran good chance the carb/jets need a good cleaning and its not getting enough fuel at load... also try to only run ethanol free in these small engines and treat w/Stabil Marine, especially if you cant find ethanol free at a pump. Ethanol gas absorbs...

    Redarc vs Ctek

Or just still carry jumper cables around and use them if the need arrises, dont need to get all complicated.. I've had a set in every vehicle Ive ever owned, even a few that had dual battery setups with A/B/A+B switches.. its not like imna stop carrying a spare tire just because I have road side...

    ARB Wiring Kit Mod

if that power source for your GZ is not ignition switched the battery's are linked continuously.. its not charging only while driving.. you need an isolation relay thats wired to ignition so the batteries disconnect when engine is off.

    "Reviving" an AGM battery.

whats its resting voltage now after being reconditioning for a few days? Check that, then hook a 12v load up to it.. hook your fridge back up and see how long it runs.. My last 100AH AGM battery died when I brought it home after a trip deeply discharged, put it in the garage, plugged it in to...

    "Reviving" an AGM battery.

My money is on toast, you could try giving it a static 14v charge for a while to see if it comes back but if it does it'll never be like it used to be capacity wise.. just a shell of its former self. no lead battery likes to be stored long term discharged, this is what did you the most damage...

Open Differentials vs. Traction Control vs. Lockers

never had diff locks before, just open and only recently TC/EDL (its disturbing to say the least, you still avoid needing it).. yeah a few times I've thought damn it'd be nice, I wouldn't be stuck right now.. but more often than not I see another fully locked vehicle breeze through an obstacle...

used a Coleman Montana 8 for a 3-4 seasons after the REI basecamp 6 for almost a decade, both were good tents that held up to some crap weather conditions..
