Starting a thread on this since I hijacked Midland's thread talking trash :censored:

Chirp, I had to modify some code slightly to ignore the model lookup.. I sent my changes upstream, dunno if they made it into the latest.. its an easy one line change if it hasent
Data is always good IMO, eventually you learn your systems characteristics and notice when something goes sideways before it becomes a huge issue.. Oh I'm using too much power, Too little power, my voltage is way lower than it should be for this consumption, etc.. Helps you keep your system...
Zastone X6, $16 each.. 3W (they claim) they are not perfect, but they are small, rugged and cheap enough I can pass em out like Candy to my boys and their cousins and not care too much if one or two dont find their way back home.
They get a really high WAF Score because they are small & light...
Sealed Lead Acid (AGM/GEL) are safe to be in unvented locations and on their sides.. its like the only valid justification for paying that much for something that has to be so coddled.
Just make sure you put that master fuse on incase something breaks loose it wont short out the battery...
you need a bigger 120v battery charger/maintainer.. I'd suggest ~10A Onboard charger for your size for decent recharge times in the field.
Get your self a BlueSea Terminal Master Fuse (around 20-30A fuse should be good for you), BlueSea BlueSea Fuse box w/Neg Bus, Master Disconnect Switch...
Ive installed that film on my back door, I think a critical part of the equation though is you caulk/glue the film to the door/window frame.. In a vehicle side window, I think you'd just push in the big broken sheet of glass inwards and get it to pop out of the door all together.
I mean window...
Two 12v batteries in parallel will also kill eachother when one goes bad, you have one battery drawing down the other and the other never gets fully charged, yes not as quickly as in a series but they still will unless your isolating and testing the batteries regularly.. OP is in a trailer, he's...
This pic was still on the product page, showing a USB port..
This is the standard symbol for USB:
Sorry you got hoodwinked, I did too by giving em kudos for that feature.. that sucks, you have my condolences.. apparently MidLand dont know whats in their own boxes or the specs of their own...
they stealth ninja edited the page, the Micro-USB charging cable is now an AC adapter under "whats in the box".. booo.. Google cache from earlier this week lists DC adapter too but thats gone, I dont think they know whats in the box yet.. shrug.
they do when you wire em all together, unless you happen to catch it immediately by luck one bad battery will kill a whole bank of batteries very quickly as all the rest desperately attempt to equalize with a battery thats not their equal.. when you got a bank of batteries, you buy em all at...
Dont bother with AGM's for a trailer unless your a full timer, they are allright for a truck that always leaves em fully charged once engine is turned off but in a recreational trailer your not going to recharge it through the factory trailer wiring from the engine..
Unless you pamper an AGM...
I made a custom bezel once for a vehicle, lookup plastic casting online.. basically I got some modeling foam and carved/sanded/painted smooth a custom adapter bezel for a blank spot I took out factory device, used that to make a silicon mold, then finally cast liquid plastic into that.. took a...
Your Cayenne battery isint under the seat? There should be no problem using an add-a-fuse in the main fuse box either.. it wont mess with any computer controls.. you can even populate an unused fuse slot if you get the right crimp pins or jumper wires.
that I do not know, given the air shipping constraints on lithium batteries shipping may be an issue.. contact em I guess, they were pretty responsive to my inquiries.
If you've never needed it, ditch it.. that goes for most of the gear you carry, with only a few exceptions.. If you've got a winch, maxtrax, lockers and a bottle jack then its a useless redundancy that doesn't really excel in any of that.. I mean if you ever got so stuck all of that didnt get...
