2021 F150 Tremor - updated build and price now available.

I stopped by the local dealer this week. They typically keep about 100 F150s in stock, but currently they have 4, and they weren't optioned very well. They have no estimate of when they might be getting more. I'm thinking I'll keep my Yukon until they stop making gas for it, but I'm very tempted...

2021 F150 Tremor - updated build and price now available.

I just talked with my mechanic and he says parts are in super short supply, both repair and new car supply. Dealer stock is low with the GMC dealer looking abandoned right now. Prices are through the roof on any halfway decent used truck, though new F150s seem to be going for several grand under...

    Service Body

Oh man, I've thought about a build like this for a long time. I'm glad someone's done it. Looks awesome!

5V USB Jerrycan pump and faucet, super simple!

Do you have a link to the pump and faucet you used? I'd love to have some semblance of a sink in my rig.

A Diesel in the New Suburban? Heck Yeah!

I definitely meant to say the 3.0 probably doesn't fit in the midsize trucks. Whoops.

    Tray Beds

A quick Google search shows an 8' Norweld being between 400 and 700 pounds, where a basic CM flatbed with no toolboxes or anything weighs in at 740 pounds. The Norwelds seem to be aimed at 1/2 ton trucks where payload is a lot more sensitive, and have a lot more sizing options. They're somewhat...

A Diesel in the New Suburban? Heck Yeah!

They've discontinued the 2.8 for the midsize trucks and fullsize vans, to be replaced with the 2.7L Turbo 4. I'm not entirely sure why they decided the 3.0 I6 diesel was the way forward, but my guess is that it has the overhead to provide more power. Almost 100HP more out of just .2 more liters...

Shocks/Lift for 2006 Silverado 1500 and Arb Bumper

I know torsion bar ratings get messy on the GMT800s, but you might be able to pair some uprated bars with some leveling keys and fit 33's. Maybe find some bars out of the 1500HD? The added weight of the bumper should cancel out the stiffer bars to some extent.

    3/4 Ton GM Steering/Suspension Refresh

Thanks everyone for the input. Sounds like I need to decide between keeping the tie rods as the weak link or going with the pricier parts. Good point on having the rods already adjusted - that might be cheap insurance versus spending 10x more on the expensive rods. Luckily we don't salt our...

    Looking For a New 1/2Ton

If I were gonna buy a new 1/2 ton, it'd be a 2.7L Ecoboost with either the 36 gallon tank, or perhaps a 42-48 gallon if someone makes one that doesn't compromise clearance too much. Even if I don't NEED it, I love me some range.

Poor mans hummer gmt800 2500 yukon xl

Man I'm so glad stuff in Idaho doesn't rust. I've had a bare spot on the front fenders where the previous owner's bug guard rubbed the paint off and it's still shiny. Do you get any rub with the bigger tires at full flex like that? I'm thinking I'd like to go bigger than 235/85/16s for my next...

    3/4 Ton GM Steering/Suspension Refresh

Sounds like upgrades are in order. I think my parts list is as follows: Kryptonite tie rods Moog Pitman/Idler arms Kryptonite support/brace kit Possibly ball joints Possibly UCAs and longer shocks My shocks are good so I may just get some of the extender brackets for now, and upgrade later. I...

    Ford Tremor

So I did some playing and you can get the 2Kw Powerboost on the extended cab with the 6.5 foot box. The full 7.5Kw or whatever requires the hybrid which needs the crew cab for the hybrid batteries, motor in the trans, etc. I wonder if Ford is only bringing it to those models for packaging...

    Ford Tremor

I believe the powerboost is crewcab only because of the space it takes up under the cab along the frame. I'm not sure why it couldn't be extended under an extended cab long box, but that's why it's like that.

    3/4 Ton GM Steering/Suspension Refresh

Hey guys, I plan to refresh the steering on my 2001 Yukon XL 2500 this spring and I'm trying to decide which path to take. I'd like an upgrade over OEM for durability and steering feel, but I'm not sure where I'd like to put my money and effort. I think a full Kryptonite kit might be more than...

    My 2006 GMT800 2500 Auction Find...

What do the RPO codes say about lockers and gear ratios? My 2001 2500 Yukon has 4.10s and a G80 already, and that seems to be the most common setup I've seen. Great buy!

Poor mans hummer gmt800 2500 yukon xl

I'll be following this. I'm considering a set of H2 wheels once my current tires wear out, but that's going to be a while. I do love me a 3/4 ton Suburban. Luckily here in Southern Idaho nothing seems to rust. There's a couple spots where the paint was rubbed through on mine, and they're just as...

What happens when the biggest and baddest vehicle breaks down

Honestly, if the recovery price was decent, I'd call 'em even if I had the equipment to get out myself. On a rig that big and presumably pricey, I'd rather the towing company flip it over in the recovery than me flipping it. There's at least a chance their insurance would cover it instead of...

Budget Used Domestic Cargo Vans for Family Member Build?

I'd recommend looking at Chevy Express/GMC Savana van with the V8. Reliable drivetrain, some 4x4 conversions are available, reasonable fuel economy. Zach's right, the V6s are going to be underpowered to the point that you'll have to floor them to get up hills and merge on the freeway. Downsides...

    2003 Suburban project

LTZ is mainly an interior trim level, but it didn't come about until the next generation of suburbans I believe. Yours would be an LS or LT, with LT being the higher trim level. Other than upholstery/HVAC controls/factory stereo I don't think it makes any difference, and certainly no difference...
