Figured this would sell pretty quick but all the interest has been to far away! No GA folks interested?
Due to its fairly small size and a soon to be giant roof rack I could bring it Expo West if that helps anyone.
Ahhhh....it was Tapatalk. Picture shows up fine on the regular site.
So your set up is a lot like the Astro one? Normal horizontal bike rack hung on shower handle like bars? Seems like a fairly simple solution but I worry about the rack take a vertical load. Had any issues?
Thanks for the pic!
It seems that the general consensus is that the 5.4 is a turd but I have no issues in my regular body van. Is it a rocket ship? Heck no but I don't tow and therefore don't really need more power. If it helps I have always owned lower powered Tacoma's before this van.
I preferred a V10 as well...
Thanks for all of the replies gentleman.
My little moment of panic and anxiety last night has passed.
I messed around with a cheap carrier I already had in the front hitch today and think I will go with a front mount. I am tall so no obstruction on view and will try to avoid night driving so...
I second www.motopatagonia.com!
I went down there last fall and rode with them. It was simply amazing!
They have several trip options. They have a longer 10 day trip that includes lot of Moto riding but also whitewater rafting and many over activities. May be nice to do a little bit of...
Man, that's an awesome deal!

As time is running out to finish my van before our big trip I need help with ideas on carrying our bicycles.
I need to save money so a $$$ Thule or Yakima is out.
I want the two bikes (a hybrid and my mtn bike) on the back to keep clean and not restrict airflow/light in the front. The bikes...

Ordered some ash slats and should have them next week!

Really preferred wood slats for the look and support but really haven't seen it used much in modern roof racks. Might have to go out on a limb and try it.
Steel slats would be too heavy and...
Got top and bottom hoops bent up for the roof rack. Made out of 1" steel tubing. 081 or 0.83 wall; whichever it is.
It is gonna be 5x10 and hold a solar panel, Rotopax, and roof trunk storage thingy. Hopefully have room to hang out on top some too.
Need ideas for flooring. Leaning towards...
