Ambulance Appraisal & Insurance Claim Help

Looks like most of the items you have listed and are higher $$ are removable pretty easily (batteries and electrical.). Once they low ball you and only pay the van cost, just remove anything that they don’t account for. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Insuring DIY Hardside Camper Build on chassis cab truck

Wondering those of you that made custom hardside campers on Chassis cabs, how you have them insured. I have a 1996 F350 Chassis cab ambulance. When I bought it, my DMV had no record of it being an ambulance, just an incomplete vehicle. They wouldn't even let me title it as a truck because it...

1996 Ford F350 Powerstroke 4x4 Ambulance Build Thread

It does have metal spring and mine also had some silicon sealant but once I got a hold of it, it came out relatively easily.

1996 Ford F350 Powerstroke 4x4 Ambulance Build Thread

Been a while since I have updated this but progress is slowly happening. After a lot of time going back and forth, I ultimately decided a full get and start from scratch was the route I wanted to go. But first I wanted to get this thing enjoyable to drive and mechanically sound. It had been...

What is everyone's favorite solar, battery, controller combo these days?

Yeah my only concern outside the cost with LifePO4 is they seem more fragile (and the expense to replace amplifies this). Like don't you have to worry about them freezing and such? As far as longevity, that makes sense, but I don't know if I will keep this rig longer than a couple/few years...

What is everyone's favorite solar, battery, controller combo these days?

I'm getting to the point where I am going to be ordering my electrical components for my ambulance build. My last build (a ram promaster) I went almost all renogy with 2x 100W panels, a rover 40amp controller, a 20amp DC to DC charger and 2 cheap 6v golf cart batteries. I switched to the...

Suggestions for robust gutter mounts for self built roof rack?

I'm looking to build my own roof rack for my ambulance. Probably out of 8020. When I did this on my van build, I used unistrut that bolted to the van specific adapters. For the ambo, it's got gutters so I'd like to just mount to those vs drill holes in the roof for stuff like solar and...

2003 E450 Quigley - Wheeled Coach - Where to start with the electrical - HELP!!

Following. I am building my 4x4 ambo now. I have a type 1 1996, but just found out the box is a type 3 wheeled coach remount from 1987! I am thinking my electrical will need to be figured out with time and a test light. As for th 4x4 button, are you sure it's a 4x4 button? I see a 4x4 light...

1996 Ford F350 Powerstroke 4x4 Ambulance Build Thread

I replaced the accordion seal yesterday and got to work removing the stretcher brackets. Front one came off easy. The rear most one the knob unthreaded from the stud. Tried vice grips, bolt extractors, and a hammer impact all failed. Eventually cut the stud off. Then when trying to remove the in...

    4x4 mitsu with Hilo

No affiliation. Interesting build not a lot of info but for a 4x4 rig these days is a decent price assuming it’s functional. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/719806361930392/

1996 Ford F350 Powerstroke 4x4 Ambulance Build Thread

Awesome thanks! I think this is the route I'll for now at least. I just ordered cheap load bars, will work on finding a cheap basket next. If it works well and I like the height, I'll get the Smittybilt defender gutter mounts and make something out of 8020 or unistrut.

Oh and as for the access, I know it won’t be easy but hopefully I don’t have to do it more than once. I also plan on carrying a compressor and plug kit. And if I get a flat it will come down pretty easily with help of gravity and I’ll toss the flat tire in the truck. Sent from my iPhone using...
