I really really want (asymptotically trending to need) a pop roof camper solution. Specifically, for my in-progress FJ80 build. Campteq may be an option here. The price is non-trivial. A few questions
Is it worth it?
What true level of increased convenience is attained?
Is the...
Touring has been limited in 2020. Because...well, you know
But they carried us on most mountain tracks with relative ease this summer. Only place where I really did wish I had my KM3s was several trips up/down Radical Hill (...
Not man enough for 22. Did seriously considering 20" blades
Still need a few more paychecks to save for the tires but thinking I'll go the 15" route. If only because a bit more classic and rare.
With the popular flow I never seem to go.
Yes, I love me some 255s :-) but I just happen to have the original 15s and some Taco steel 17s. Purchase of 16 wheels would be a net addition....to which I'm not apposed, yet I'm sure I could nickle & dime myself to death on this thing.
Ha! I see what you did there!
I spent many thousands on sets of Duratracs, and then bought them again. It was a low point in my life: http://dog.xepoch.com/duratracs That was after doing every in-between tread I could find out there.
Then I decided no one ever looked at any of my vehicles and wanted to be me, so I...
Couldn't agree more with that statement. I do appreciate as much sidewall as I can get. But there do seem to be some tire availability limitations, as well as how many folks are running 15s nowadays for resale?
I miss Bed Bath and Beyond, the food court, and spending time in the Apple store. Once there was this pile of snow that the plows made in the parking lot and I drove one of my wide Nitto tires up on it and people looked at me all funny.
If I switch (soonish) to a FF rear axle I have to go at least 16. 33x10.50s don't seem to be readily available without a few days order time. I often sell my tires at about 50% tread remaining: more demand for 17?
FJ80. 15" wheels stock. Fitting ~33"s.
Would you stay 15s for more sidewall or move to 17s? I have both OEM 15" and 17" wheels. 17 is the new 15. Options for tires are plentiful anyway. Any reason y'all would stray from 15?
