Outside (on roof rack) 12VDC power bus?

?. That specific wire is stranded and why I was considering it. ? ...but reconsidering too.

Outside (on roof rack) 12VDC power bus?

It's not so much "hardware store" stuff, it is that it is flat, rated, and can both run underneath the lower windshield fairing and fits almost perfectly between the glass and A-pillar, it also has a "ground" wire that I can employ to assert the lighting relay. I'm absolutely open to all other...

Outside (on roof rack) 12VDC power bus?

In the 8/2ufb there is a smaller ground wire which I would use to assert the relay for the LED lights (I'm embarrassed to say I even have them!). Otherwise, everything else planned up there is all switched up there. The only in-cab switch is the lighting. And that's why I'm thinking about...

Outside (on roof rack) 12VDC power bus?

Fascinating. I am reading more on this. This is effectively of what I was thinking. Price is high, BUT start adding up time, connectors, solder, relays, etc etc falls right in there.

Outside (on roof rack) 12VDC power bus?

Hiding will be done but I'm more into function than form. That said, the wiring is actually going up the side of the windshield. I am seriously debating 105°C 8/2UFB wire wrapped in a poly sleeve, so yes I would run ground up. Yes, but, it is only 12V and certainly not enough potential to...

Outside (on roof rack) 12VDC power bus?

Folks, running 12VDC with ~40A capacity up to the roof rack, there will the "obligatory" LED lighting as well as outlets for the rooftent and an eventual solar feed. I'd like to terminate a bus/breakout from somewhere such that I'm not splicing/tapping every time. What solutions have you used...

Lower profile mounting channel for eeziawn rooftent?

Pictured below is the egregiously high profile mounting and support channel on my eeziawn well exceeding 1.3" in height. Looking to replace this with something as low profile as possible. Any ideas?

    New Defender News

Sincerely good post. However, warrantless investigations and searches happen constantly. Today, the means and computation are absolutely available for dirt cheap, and ad-hoc searches of identifiable data and inferences/signals are encouraged to LE. Arguably "free" Western guvs generally are...

I'm hesitant to enter this conversation, but as I work in this very field, I ? assure you these data are "shared." The monies for such exchange can be packaged in any way. Regardless of anyone's subjective opinion on the ethics for or against, let's not pretend these data are not being shared...

Exploring the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, Bears Ears and more! (Oct 2018)

I totally don't wanna be "that guy," but may I ask what drove you to both those wider wheels and that offset/backspacing? I've done my share of epic trips into/out of the mud and for that reason (and also in order to keep the KPI/scrub steering geometry as close to stock as possible) I've kept...

Perfect off-highway tire = LTX? What?

Stupid anecdote but this made me remember something: I had this neighbor years ago who would buy the cheapest new winter tires (always studded) he could find every October, then sell them in the classifieds every May as "just one season" used. I used to think he was crazy for spending all that...

Perfect off-highway tire = LTX? What?

Funny. I'm always finding myself in precarious stuck situations. That exact scenario is quite real as I've been stranded in Tuweep as the roads became impassable washes from said summer monsoon storm. I quite obviously have run and presently own "true" MTs, for my travels they don't have some...

¿What tire size do you wish existed? But does not.

35.42x11.61r18 I just sold a set 295/70r18 (went to 275/70r18) as honestly they were just too big for the LC100, in practice measured larger diameter than my old 315/75r16 (which is totally find but rubbed my fender at the slightest turn) How about 285/80r18?

I actually do have two sets of tires. I was saying I do get the challenge of buying two sets!
