Are any of the newer LR's capable?

I think the Discovery is the only one that has that. I don't think the Range Rover has one ( although now they have some awesome downhill descent control systems, and crawl systems )

Are any of the newer LR's capable?

They apparently have better departure angles or near the same as the previous ones have had. Now in regards to the aftermarket, that's a bit different

Are any of the newer LR's capable?

Curious - are any of the newer Land Rovers ( e.g. the Discovery of the Range Rover Sport ) capable at some overlanding? I know they're more designed with more road manners than off road in mind, but they still seem pretty capable. Heck, Matt Farah took a Velar off-roading at the Pioneer Trail...

    Unimog 419?

New to overlanding in general, but Unimog's have always fascinated me since Jurassic Park. There's a Unimog 419 local to me ( has a slew of ;hydraulic tools, chain saw, jack hammer, drill ) It seems a bit... squat for what most 'mog builds I've seen, but curiousity has me.

There's an AEV Prospector XL conversion Ram 2500 chassis for sale in N. Georgia!

I've always, admittingly, have wanted to pick up one of the Ram 2500 Utility trucks http://www.commercialtrucktrader.com/listing/2016-Ram-2500--118093890 and then do the AEV goodies - similar to this UTE Would make for a neat track car support tow vehicle.

    GMT900 ( 07-13 Tahoe/Suburban )?

Maybe it's a different demograph, but I see people dropping coin on Tacoma's, 4Runner's, Land Cruisers and Land Rovers and they definitely surpass that price point... As for those who talk about the aftermarket - it's decently large. Maybe not to a F150/Super Duty/japanese manufacturer, but...

    GMT900 ( 07-13 Tahoe/Suburban )?

I've been looking at various chassis ( from the new Cherokee Trailhawk and Grand Cherokee ) to F-150's, F-250's and Excursions, to Tacos, 4Runners and such. I've seen in general GMT800s built up, but why is it that I rarely see a GMT900 for overlanding, much less even off roading? Am I missing...

    Verdict on the WK2

How are the feelings on the WK2? Nothing too serious as I live in suburbia, but still would be gunning for a mild overland build. I've also considered the Cherokee Trailhawk, but it won't be till 2017 that they offer HID's ( sorry, I like to see the road a bit farther down ). This would also be...

locker LC vs a non-locker LC

I would, but I'm actually offloading a 2005 Ford Crown Victoria LX Sport for something like this - part of it being to not have a monthly payment/insurance - [edited to remove ethnic slur. If you know enough to write "No offense" then you can be sure someone will be offended - Chip Haven]

locker LC vs a non-locker LC

So, I'm a lurker. I've been hunting for an LC and I was wondering just HOW beneficial lockers really are - from what I understand, unless you're doing some serious rock crawling, you don't HAVE to have them. I ask because I found a very nice LC for a great price, loaded - just no lockers...

Post pictures of your Land Rover.

Personally, a few changes to make it more expedition worthy and it would be absolutely BAMF, considering he's modeling it after some of the InGen expedition vehicles seen in The Lost World.
