I'd still recommend the Ozark Trails or any of the others from California Innovations. They recently purchased a factory in the Atlanta area; a friend of one of my colleagues runs the place and QC is excellent.

I had a JKU with 3.73 gears and a manual trans. It towed my teardrop better than my previous JK, a 2008 2-door with an automatic, but I'd still call it a miserable tow-pig. It didn't mind going slow but in our hilly area I was rowing gears like a maniac on highways.
I'd keep the trailer...
We camp in ours year-round but never more than 2 weeks at a time. Usually about 60 nights a year.
For winter --- If I have power hook-up, we've got an electric mattress warmer. Very cozy. If boondocking, I've got 12v electric blankets; you have to keep an eye on your consumption though since...

And it's amazing how they grow up and we don't age a day. Camping keeps you young. ;)
Actual picture of Jack the day he picked up his Defendor
Chad/Smitty, are you coming to CFW? You can really show off the RTTs there. Should be some brisk morning air at Crawford's...
Most of our members will say "Partner" but this is the one I have and it works great.
You have to sink it into a top of some sort.

Very cool of you to say that ---- Chad and Kos are real people, real members of the community, and real nice people to camp with.
This and these types of businesses are the ones that our collective should be supporting.
BTW, seeing that you're from England, it made me think of Guinness. And...
