    Awnings

I have awnings on my trailer. https://expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/cheap-awning-s-review.220826/ Pros: Keeps the weather off us. Cons: Gotta dry them off, keep them staked down. Lost our last one to a random wind gust that just mangled it beyond recognition. If the weather is perfect...

    From BC

For a moment I assumed "BC" meant before COVID. Nice looking trailers. And the Kootenays, awesome area.

    Towing with a Jeep Wrangler

Your tow ratings in OZ are different than ours in the States. My '08 2-door literally popped wheelies if I hit a bump while towing our teardrop....

Best toilet for weekend adventures with the family?

I think that @JackW is selling his Thetford.

    Some RTT Questions

Rubberized canvas. @chips95 had the same set-up and we camped next to each other once. A VERY severe thunderstorm blew through one night, 60-70 mph wind, frog-drowning rain, lightning. I had the "big top" deployed, a huge tarp that was shaped to the tent. 8 poles with two guy lines each to...

    Are 0” drop trailer made?

Lift the truck? I used something like this for a long time: https://www.amazon.com/Roadmaster-072-Hi-Low-Hitch/dp/B009AQT0V0/ref=sr_1_26?dchild=1&keywords=hitch+riser&qid=1606836203&sr=8-26 It was aluminum though, very tough but light. Worked great but I had to extend my chains.

    Some RTT Questions

Late to the party but we had a Conqueror trailer, big (I think it was a Mombassa) tent with permanently attached annex. The screens for the annex zipped shut but not the bottom of the heavy canvas flaps. So always some air coming in at the bottom. Two medium triangle windows up top with one...

    Cheap awning(s) review

I bought a couple of these a while ago (price has gone up and now charging for shipping) and mounted them on both sides of the teardrop. I finally got some nasty weather and saw how they performed. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GYFTV2Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 In...

    Awning verses an ez up

We're teardroppers and use both. There's an awning on both sides of the trailer for weather protection and an EZ-Up professional to go over the hatch, again to get out of the weather. The Pro model has a very substantial build and has stood up to 75 mph winds (staked at the feet and guy lines)...

Tired of all the "crap" RTT's. So I made my own. - TERRAPOD!

Like family hour. 6'5"/225. It's so good when somebody gets it. If there's enough demand maybe he'll introduce the "Hobbit" model...

Give him puppydog eyes and he'll cave. He's a good dad; can't resist puppydog eyes... What are you trying to have him add? You two together represent some crazy engineering mojo.

How much weight can it hold? Jack likes to climb on the roof to take pictures... ;)

    Shower Tent/Privacy Enclosure

Mirtes loves the mat in front of the door to the teardrop. Lightspeed is similar to Joolca but the Joolcas go up easier/faster. Very close in concept though. And Lightspeed doesn't have a full-time floor. I like a floor when it's a potty tent. We camp near lakes and streams and both frogs...

How did Northern Indiana become so popular for RV Manufactures?

My teardrop was made by Happy Valley Trailers, mostly Amish craftsmen. I've been dragging it around for almost 10 years and it's still solid as a brick, no squeaks, rattles, or separated seams. But they were Ohio, not Indiana. When Happy Valley bought Little Guy they moved manufacturing to...

    Shower Tent/Privacy Enclosure

The Joolca is about as good as it gets ---- but nothing is perfect. I'd rather have a removeable floor. @FrenchieXJ shared a great idea with us while camping several years ago --- rubber restaurant mats, the ones with the holes in them, buy the big mat and cut it into 3 manageable strips...

Recommendations for rechargeable LED lantern for table?

I've "warmed" up a few lamps through the years by tinting the lens with Duplicolor Metalcast Yellow spray paint. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000994BUW//?tag=2402507-20 A really long essay on light color by my old buddy Dan (includes tinting instructions)...

    Shower Tent/Privacy Enclosure

We've got one of those too. Sux in the wind; twists around like one of those turbofan-dummies that they have in front of used car lots. In nice weather, fine.

    Best Car Camping Cooler

Yep. A relative bargain in this segment. I'd go to the Wallyworld though. With all of the Black Friday fanfare they've got going right now you might score a deal.

Recommendations for rechargeable LED lantern for table?

We have a little one from Walmart that runs on 2 AAA batteries. Was $5 and I've changed the batteries twice in about 9 years. Also has a red LED that spares your night vision.
