Sleeping Platform / Storage / Kitchen Options

Although both set ups look nice I do have some questions as to height (mentioned above) if you are sleeping on the platform as well as access to the jack and aux power ports in the back of the Grenadier. Neither solution looks like they have taken that into account. I am considering building my...

10L "Jerry can", 11L Dometic "Go Hydration" or Rotopax for water?

That siphon looks like a good solution as, unlike my set up (earlier post) you don't need to set the can on the side. Same type of siphon used in my AEV Fuel Caddy, they work very well.

    Alternative fuels for small firepit?

Perhaps regular smoker pellets would work, the ones like Traeger uses? I have tried some of those pressed bricks before and had pretty limited success, perhaps user error but I never went back to them.

120 Volt Outlets Confirmed! And 2.0 Kw

That is very interesting Scott, but calcs (V * A=W) shows 2400. The Power Take Off on the Grenadier website (standard on the Trialmaster) shows the Power Take Off as being 400 watts. Not sure how those two reconcile but if it is in fact 2400 I am stoked!

    portable gas fire pit

Some of our friends had one of these recently in northern MI and I thought it worked very well so would recommend as well.

Thread for those that have their money down.

I am waiting patiently. Drove it at the Chicago event and really liked it. Some stuff I did notice-the steering ratio (I did miss that tree!), the lower headroom on entry similar to a Camaro, comfortable ride and seating. At this point I have heard Q4 delivery.

    *yawn*

A slug of folks got notice last weekend, myself included, that our build window is Q4, 2023. So progress is being made, but I am sure not fast enough for some folks.

    Lets talk about camp lights

Although I grew up using Coleman lanterns and still enjoy them when I need light but my primary light now are LUCI or Luminaid augmented by some cheap headlamps. I have really gotten fond of the green light on my headlamp for night time. But once the dishes are done it is campfire time.

Carbon Steel Cookware Start up - GOSO Cookware.

That is a new one to me. We use carbon steel frequently and I have never heard this.

    Refillable 1 Lb Propane Bottles

We use these and really like them. There was a recall a while back and the supply of bottles was going to replacements but they now seem to be available again. The benefit is that they are designed and engineered to be refilled, unlike the normal Coleman bottles. As such they are also legal to...

    Snow Peak Addiction

I have and use quite a bit of Snow Peak gear and have always (well mostly-that butane torch flooding problem...) thought it was top tier stuff, well thought out and executed. I have never used, or even seen, one of their tents but I just had the opportunity to test their Alpha Breeze and I have...

Carbon Steel Cookware Start up - GOSO Cookware.

I am glad to see you moving forward with the project and am excited to see what you come up with! Regarding carbon knives they are not seasoned in the same way that cookware is but over time they develop a patina that makes each blade utterly unique. BUT you do have to care for them...

    Overlanding Ovens

I have not had great luck with the Omnia sadly, it has a tendency to burn the bottom of what I am baking. I have tried raising the sleeve using the rack but it was not a game changer for me. The one thing that I did that I need to do some more fiddling with is to use a perforated flame tamer...

What's your favourite frying pan? Market Research

I agree that this pan is not as thick as my home carbon steel pans such as Matfor or BlueSkillet but there is a reason I don't take those camping and overlanding. I think the Oxo is a great compromise in durability, weight and packability.

What's your favourite frying pan? Market Research

So far I have had no warping problems with this pan. Like any pan it is possible if overheated but so far it has been rock solid.

    Save aqua

Looks like a handy little device that could help preserve some water at camp. I am not sure anything I use for water would mate with their fittings but the idea is solid.
