    I agree with the Daves!

    '94 Toyota Pickup build

I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did. Toyota used to fix for free, it was such a common problem. But I'm not a 3.0 hater-I like the engine. Good luck!

    Old's Cool

X2 on lovin' the truck, and your el cheapo approach. No lift and stock wheels-how refreshing is that! Kinda crappy photos, but they work. :)

    1995 4Runner DD/Adventure "Killbox"

Wow, that's a lot of work you've done, and good job on the documentation. Looks like you've got a Nissan D21 too?

    '94 Toyota Pickup build

OK, so maybe that's why the engine had been running rough for so long. Was this first time head gasket had blown to your knowledge, or did you have records of the HG recall being done in the past?

Show us your Toyota 4runner, tacoma or truck.

Wow, great photo. Shouldn't include Patrol in this image though, as its appearance kinda puts FJ to shame. How come you don't have a 70 series Toyota LC?

    Schattenjager's 2012 GX460

Sweet rigs. Nice mix of a 4runner and LC.

Just took the plunge....LJ70 series. Where to find the odds and ends.

Neat. So what's the "need to" stuff that been done already? You could probably sell the engine being pulled to a Toyota mini truck guy.

1993 4Runner - Daily driver with a sense of adventure

That's what my V6/auto gets, last time I checked. Around 155K miles on it.

1993 4Runner - Daily driver with a sense of adventure

Nice job keeping it alive. I haven't seen fender flares like that on this generation before. Hopefully not hiding rust? MPG should be 15-18, as someone else mentioned.

    2017 4runner v 2017 Landcruiser

That's about when an off roading friend, who owned and loved his V-8 Scout 800, commented to me that in his view Toyota trucks held up the best of all off road, compared to other makes. I still think they probably make the most durable trucks, and that the Land Cruiser is the toughest of them...

    Lc200

It's a fact that LC headroom is getting less generous. 40.3 for 80 series, 39.2 for 100 and 38.3 for 200. Reviewer at this site complains about lack of headroom for tall drivers. https://jalopnik.com/here-s-what-it-s-like-to-off-road-an-85-000-toyota-lan-1764983818

Looking at an LX470 tomorrow - please discuss

Expensive parts. Just go ahead and price the master cylinder assembly. I hear there's a heater hose T that's problematic-not a big deal.

    FT-AC as possible FJ Successor?

It appears smaller than the FJ Cruiser, which is the right direction to go in my opinion. Land Cruiser, 4Runner and Toyota trucks have all become behemoths over the past couple decades.

Lexus LX or GX for newbie

OME also has a 1.5 inch lift for that beast. If you buy it and want to go 2.5, then there's the new upper control arms and differential drop kit that should be added, bringing your bill to 2K in parts alone. Meh, I'd just buy some new shocks and wouldn't even consider dumping the stock wheels.

Your truck is a real beauty. Nice work.

Popping sound? What could this be?

This is a 100 series LX which would have torsion bars in the front I believe. OK, maybe steering rack bushings? Just a guess. :smiley_drive:

Looking to build my first rig

There's nothing unique about an 80 series, and they're incredible gas guzzlers. Definitely NO on the Jeep. May I suggest a 4Runner-1st or 2nd Gen would be my preference-or an FJ Cruiser?
