Backcountry Pro is great on my android phones and tablet - can run off stored maps if you load them in advance - can get decent free topo maps or buy them if you prefer.

How about a jump pack in case the battery gets drained to non-start state? An expensive way to go is a Goal0 Yeti and boulder panels to charge when not hooked up to 12v to top off.

I got a camp chef everest and it's a flamethrower! Great stove, but a little large. It doesn't fit in my dosko, so I got a standard coleman 2 burner. The adjustablity of the flame on the everest is 10x better than the coleman. I desperately want to justify the purchase of a partner sometime in...

Another vote for Partner... I've got coleman (a propane and a classic dual-fuel) and camp chef everest myself - will get a partner as soon as my other build priorities are met.

Soft top compatibility and ease of removal tend to be the biggest differentiators aside from price and brand name. Most are good, all will rust eventually, unless you take care of them.

Are you trying to have it digital on your GPS/device as you drive or just use it for trip planning? There are lots of GPS applications that let you add notes and routes, etc.

I've practiced and practiced and sort of resigned to pulling through whenever possible. I have even unhooked, pushed/pulled by hand to position the trailer & jeep, then re-hooked up when needed. I'm not so proud as to not admit this. :-)
