    Simple mapping needed

Backcountry Pro is great on my android phones and tablet - can run off stored maps if you load them in advance - can get decent free topo maps or buy them if you prefer.

Your thoughts on my M101 security idea

Just gonna slow them down - or get them to trash your trailer in frustration. I lock my safety chains through the lunette and have padlocks on all my hasps, Hi-lift, and fuel carriers, but understand completely that it's just to keep an honest person honest.

    Plumbing

I would be concerned about copper soldered fittings being less resilient in a high vibration environment

    M416 Leaf Spring Clamps

you can get new spring packs, unless you want the posterity of having reconditioned them or something. I just sprayed mine, but I wouldn't open and then re-bend the clamps if you were to remove them - might bind the spring or fatigue/break the clamp - it just keeps them in alignment so they...

Thoughts on Hummer H2 for overlanding

The H2 has some off-road prowess - I've wheeled with plenty of them... What generally keeps them off the overlanding radar are things like reliability, weight, fuel economy, and visibility. You may see them on local trails, but just not in the further reaches, away from civilization. That said...

Looking 4 suggestions on CPAP, recharging batteries and dual batteries?

How about a jump pack in case the battery gets drained to non-start state? An expensive way to go is a Goal0 Yeti and boulder panels to charge when not hooked up to 12v to top off.

    2 burner camping stove recommendations?

I got a camp chef everest and it's a flamethrower! Great stove, but a little large. It doesn't fit in my dosko, so I got a standard coleman 2 burner. The adjustablity of the flame on the everest is 10x better than the coleman. I desperately want to justify the purchase of a partner sometime in...

This is what I am thinking....

    1) What are your lighting needs? General camp illumination? 36w LEDs are pretty bright! Maybe you could consider more smaller lights (sort of like "rock lights") 2) That charger looks small - more like a battery tender - how about a larger panel? 3) Any chance of just running dual batteries?

Solar sulution for soft top jeep ?

Exactly - I have my ARB plugged in in the back enclosed porch and it serves as a beer fridge Got the ARB wire kit for the jeep during trips and I carry a jump pack in case it gets low, but with a little tending while stationary during trips (every other day) the battery stays strong and drinks...

    Build stove?

Another vote for Partner... I've got coleman (a propane and a classic dual-fuel) and camp chef everest myself - will get a partner as soon as my other build priorities are met.

Kargo Master W/Congo Cage, Front Runner Slimline, or Gobi...Discuss

Soft top compatibility and ease of removal tend to be the biggest differentiators aside from price and brand name. Most are good, all will rust eventually, unless you take care of them.

    Lantern/ Cooler Questions...

Don't overthink this one... Use what you got, upgrade as opportunity and need require I have a few igloo coolers for knock-around use, have a big 70qt marine cooler we use for scout front country camping, and have an ARB65 for overlanding and roadtrips, etc. Lots of lighting options - coleman...

    Map overlay?

Are you trying to have it digital on your GPS/device as you drive or just use it for trip planning? There are lots of GPS applications that let you add notes and routes, etc.

2014 Subaru Outback need suggestions on tires and rack

For the rack, can you remove it when not needed? Then no MPG hit - even empty you may see a minor drop from aerodynamics alone (if you're commuting highway). I have a load warrior on my trailer but bolted directly to the lid - can't recall how robust the connectors are to a set of crossbars -...

Backing up with a short tongue and lunette and pintle tips?

I've practiced and practiced and sort of resigned to pulling through whenever possible. I have even unhooked, pushed/pulled by hand to position the trailer & jeep, then re-hooked up when needed. I'm not so proud as to not admit this. :-)
