    LR3/4 Forum Activity

I love my LR3. Most of the info I've gotten to get me through some mods and such, have all come from good ol' Google. Thankfully, there has been a little more good info popping up on here lately. Just ask around, and someone will certainly give you their opinion.

LR3 - why the bad rep?

OK, as an actual LR3 owner, I'll tell you my 2008 is easily the most capable, best driving/riding, and most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. I'm 36 years old and have owned Fords, Chevys, a POS Nissan, and bigger POS jeep (2008 JKU Rubicon). I've had my LR3 for about 18 months and have driven...

    Tent Insulation?

Ummmm...the sheets might work, but wearing clothes inside your sleeping bag does not! You might need a warmer sleeping bag, but letting the bag do it's job, with no clothes in which to sweat, will do a much better job of keeping you warm. I use a zero degree bag with a full zipper. It allows...

    Sock preference

Injinji socks are weird, but super comfortable. I got a couple pair to run in, as they were recommended to me for preventing blisters and hot spots. I liked them so much that I got a few more for hiking and general wear. They're kind of a pain to get on, but they're worth it.

Overland Journal Project Land Rover Discovery 4 (LR4)

Actually, Tactical Rovers has a bumper for the LR4. I have their bumper on my LR3. I was torn between the two, but ultimately I preferred the better approach angle, and replacing ALL of the plastic with metal. Their LR4 bumper just hit the market a few weeks ago.

Wow...thanks! It's not a mall crawler either. I've definitely used it for its intended purpose.

I went to the car wash and the paint started peeling off my grill...so, I went with it. I just decided to keep spraying and then sand, prime, and paint.

    LR3 Roof rack options

I have the Voyager on my LR3. I like it now that it's installed, but it was a pain to get it on. I had to buy a bunch of stainless nuts and washers to rig it so it wasn't resting on the glass. I really wanted a gobi, as I had great experience with their rack on my JK, but they haven't been...
