Danner Mountain Light II - An on-going review

I bought a pair on moosjaw many years ago (at least 8, maybe 10 years ago) and used a coupon then. Got them for around $250. Mine are needing resoled, along with my Danner Acadias.

    Taco Time: New or Used?

I went through the same question about 6 months ago and was ready to settle on a '18 when I happened upon an extremely well equipped 14 with low miles for notably less.

    LC80 info

The 80 series is among the finest vehicles ever made, much less the finest 4x4. It is overbuilt in so many way compared to any competition.

    LC80 info

I have a 93 80 series and just gave my son my 97 4Runner. The 4Runner was reliable and reached 344K miles before I passed it on. It's still ticking and will continue to do so. No matter what you do to it, it'll never be what the 80 series is. Think of the 4Runners as 80 series Lite. For an 80...

    How important is GVWR?

sounds simple enough, but the PO added nearly 300 pounds of skid plates, a contractor camper shell, an ARB with 10K lb winch, tire carrier rear bumper, dual batteries and extensive wiring and a fridge with slide out. items removed were the stock skid plate, stock suspension and front and rear...

    How important is GVWR?

My Tacoma has a number of aftermarket pieces added by the PO to include Icon stage 4 suspension and OME heavy leaf packs and a camper shell. There is a sticker in the door jamb that states "Modifications to this vehicle have reduced the original load carrying capacity by 2 kg or 5 lbs." The...

    1991 Land Cruiser....220k miles, $5600.....what am I missing?

For the price, I'd look for a 93-97 FZJ or 95-97 LX450. The best of these years is debatable, but the improvements over the 91/92 are worth having, to include the 4.5L, 212hp engine, which is still considered underpowered, but isn't as weak as the 3FE, rear free floating axle, possible factory...

Gun for gx460 secret trap door

Check out the VZ58 stock. It's minimal and seems to fit like it was made for it. I bought a Yugo correct UF stock, but they just don't feel good, IMO. They only look cool and right. VZ58 on M92

Gun for gx460 secret trap door

The M92 was a photo from the web. My M92 was quickly dremeled and given the factory krink brake, but I like the 4pc look better. The are very loud, concussive guns, but the best aspect is the very minor loss of velocity over a 16" barrel- maybe 150ft/sec.

Gun for gx460 secret trap door

    MP5 is: (with A3 stock collapsed) 19.75" long x , 8.5" high x 2.3" wide (with B&T side folder folded) 18"l x 8.5 h x 4.3" w With a mag in, it'll be about 11" high.

Gun for gx460 secret trap door

around 19" oal. SBRing isn't too hard or expensive. I have a Zenith MP5 SBR and an M92. I like the M92 a little better. The MP5 is quiet. the M92 is quite the opposite.

Selectable lockers for front diff 2002 Taco, what's available?

Another perspective- IIRC, when XOverland set up the 13 Tacoma TRD, they dumped the factory rear locker and went with ARB's front and rear and have wheeled pretty hard for that truck with no noted issues. My 14 has ARB's and my 93 80 series has factory e-lockers. It's hard to admit, but I like...

National Luna Intel. Solenoid/Controller opinion (Yay/Nay)

Thanks for that reply. The issue I have, and why I wanted to give the NL solenoid another shot is that the PO of my Tacoma installed the dual battery controller into the center console. He used the surface mount one and it looks great, but if I couldn't use it with this or another system, I'd...

Which land cruisers came factory with lockers?

FWIW, my 93 with an 11/92 build date is full floating rear, the 2.2kw starter, rear heat (maybe they all had this) and cloth manual seats. I went wheeling at an offroad park with a TLC club and one young guy was driving a 100 series with Atrac and maybe a 2" lift and BFG MT's. He went almost...

Which land cruisers came factory with lockers?

That would make sense. We're talking no e-lockers only of course. My 93 (11/92 built) is full floating, locked.

Which land cruisers came factory with lockers?

I have a 93 FZJ80 with factory e-lockers. I have enjoyed them a lot, but have had a small issue with the front not engaging. Pulling the locker actuator off, I found that the worm gear grease had solidified into a soft plastic paste and was retarding the worm gear engagement which in turn...

National Luna Intel. Solenoid/Controller opinion (Yay/Nay)

Thanks for the offer, but after some diagnosis, I decided to risk buying another intelligent solenoid to see if it resolved my issue. I continued diagnosis and had some conversation with NL's product designer and determined that my chip board for my intelligent solenoid was damaged. I found...

Show us your Toyota 4runner, tacoma or truck.

sorry no 600 yard shot as I was checking zero on my scope as I taught my sweetheart to use the rifle. Taco is a "bought not built" edition, set up completely by the PO, for which I am grateful. His work and layout is outstanding. It's funny to me how squatty it looks on 33's and an Icon lift.
