Def looking forward to seeing how it ends up. Considering various ideas for builds but i am kind of limited by the limits of my Patriot. Ideally i would like to build/buy a trailer that all of my vehicles can pull safely. Right now that is pointing towards a lightweight pop top tent trailer.
Jhill i have a question for ya. What did you end up doing for a spare tire solution for your 'riot? Were you able to fit a full size spare in the stock tire well?
Great build! Def thinking outside the box. Like kojackJKU i went the route of the Patriot with the 6 speed auto. It will eventually get some of the FDII goodies like the alt and tow hooks for sure. The design of your skid plate mounting has me thinking of some ideas however...May look into the...
Very nice friends you have there my friend.
Here is what i have been up to..

Up till the point of seeing this i was about to ask why didn't you consider the idea of just building on the existing tray and keeping the crane intact to make tire change over easier. But now i am looking forward to seeing this truck evolve with this body.
Did a bit of research to find out what other vehicles shared critical components in the suspension and learned that the Pilot and Ridgeline do. A quick search netted a lift kit intended for the Pilot which i am 95% certain will work since the Pilot and Odyssey share the entire suspension at...
Half the problem up here is that owners think they are made of gold or something given the cheapest ones usually are around 3500-4k. At that price point i can usually find some nice Jeep Cjs.
Cannot believe i missed this post! I will def look into this route. One thing i do recall from looking at the suspension when i swapped wheels during the summer last year was that the axles pointed upwards. I suspect that lifting 1 inch will put them level while going 2 inch will put them in the...
So plans changed on this. It was briefly my wifes DD till i bought her a Kia Soul for christmas and i ended up replacing my Avenger with a Jeep Patriot. So i will be looking at what i can do with it again. Lift springs are likely to give it some much needed ground clearance. Actually in some...
Great thread so far! Looking forward to future updates. I will probably be looking into something like this in the near future to pull behind my Patriot.
Thanks! Will def look into those coils as well. Took a brief look under the jeep yesterday to see where snow may have collected when i went through a drift yesterday. And was pleasantly surprised to find a skid plate staring back at me. Guessing the main difference between the FD1 models and...
It should be quite interesting, Hopefully this summer i will get a chance to go exploring some ghost towns around my area.
Thanks! Def looking forward to building it.
2015 Patriot Sport 4x4. FD1 drivetrain with the 6 speed auto. If i am not mistaken it should have the FDII springs which would have it to the same height as you had at the end.
The build plan as it is for the moment anyway:
FDII Skid plates
FDII Tow hooks
FDII Alternator
215/70R16 tires on OE rims
Mopar driving light mounts in bumper with either Mopar lights or Lightforce lights
OE fog lights in bumper
Optional ideas that may or may not get used:
RRO lift kit
RRO...

The above build thread has a lot of great info in it on the Patriots. Which if i am reading some of it right indicates that my Patriot is sitting close to the same height as his was at the end as there was a point...
