    2010 patriot soft roader build.

I agree the Star is a nice touch! Going to bring this up for a moment again...Is there an FD1 and FD2 version of the High Altitude? reason i ask this is because i looked at two yesterday and from what i could see one of them seemed to stand at least an inch to two inches taller then the other...

    Ammo can idea thread

Dang it...ok who was in my head? lol jk that is a great bit of info! I was considering building a scene light out of a cheep tripod from walmart that has removable shoes on it so i could easily swap between the light bar and using it with a camera. Was considering using some LED flood lights i...

    G30 box van build

Ahh ok that is a different set of instructions. And provided you do a mild rebuild on the trans first it should be fine. TCI sells rebuild kits for somewhat reasonable prices (under $200 usually) One of their kits or similar combined with a towing/rv shift kit which once again is not all that...

    G30 box van build

More then likely yes you will need a modified driveshaft especially if you were to combine it with a swap to a FF with different gears. But...the OD on the TH700 would bring your revs down a bit..maybe enough you may not need to touch the gearing. I may know of the instructions you are talking...

    G30 box van build

From the looks of the pic with the 16s you have the Semi Floater. A Full floater will have a hub sticking out through the center of the wheel. As for the TH700R4 vs 4L80E is simply the E part of things...you would need a stand alone transmission computer to run a 4L80E so that adds some further...

    Ammo can idea thread

Will do, May even start collecting parts in the near future as budget allows. There is a store up here in canada called Princess Auto that sells surplus stuff like the Ammo cans so i will probably wander over there within the next few days to see what they may have kicking around. The most...

    G30 box van build

Honestly for a first expo vehicle its not a bad start. Hell if i was in your shoes i would probably look at picking up a TH700R4 and regearing to 3:73. That along with a set of 265/75R16s will bring the Detroit a lot closer to its sweet spot power band wise. One option with this especially would...

    Ammo can idea thread

Earlier in this thread i believe i seen where someone used an ammo can to make a portable power pack of sorts. While i was at a trade show this past weekend that idea got brought up while i was talking with some reps from a shop that sells batteries. I may end up looking more into it in the near...

    Lumpskie's 1989 Grand Wagoneer Build

It came out of an '82 Chevy K10 from my understanding, I got it as part of a spare parts stash with my '94 GMC Sierra with the 6.5 Detroit.

Off-GRID ENGINEERING Dual Battery Systems (An Introduction)

Cool good to know! I will probably work with the shop to see what Lead acid batteries will fit in the trays. I may end up using a standard battery at first while i get the truck sorted out after the battery relocation. There may be a chance i can fit a Group 35 into the stock floor location as...

    Lumpskie's 1989 Grand Wagoneer Build

Funny you say that...I have a 1982 6.2L Detroit Diesel and have kicked around the thought of dropping it into a full size jeep many times. Well that or a CJ7. Right now im on the fence about what im doing with the Chevy. There are times i want to lower it and have a nice street truck..then there...

Thanks for the info! So the Split kit would be the one with the single tray? Just making sure i understand your terms correctly.

    Lumpskie's 1989 Grand Wagoneer Build

I got the truck with the engine in it. It was originally equipped with a 305 and sometime during its life it got a 1975 Olds 350 Rocket with a 4 barrel dropped into it.

    MG Metalworks Van Build

Madness it is! Cummins swap, mods to the 4wd system...if i remember right doing a pop top.....madness indeed....I wish i could do even half of that to my Chevy project but alas...about the only thing i could consider is the cummins idea...4wd is a no go thanks to insurance regulations up...

    First Jeep

No problem! I have seen quite a few Moabs up here in Canada and i am pretty dang sure i have seen a few Rubicons fitted with the same bumper up here as well. The Back Country is a pretty nice Jeep as well!. I almost ended up in a '12 JK 2 door sport last fall but thanks to some not so fun...

    First Jeep

Nice Jeep! A budget friendly way of getting to a winch bumper is to check out some of the other JK models. I want to say it was the Moab that had a factory winch bumper but no winch on it. I am pretty sure i have seen it on some of the Rubicons as well. Note: it was the Moab that had it.

Off-GRID ENGINEERING Dual Battery Systems (An Introduction)

What group sizes of batteries do these fit? 35s mostly? Just double checking since i was talking to some reps at a local battery shop yesterday getting prices for batteries. As much as i would like to run an Odyssey i dont drive the truck enough to justify one just yet. So if these will work...

Need a source for rollover sofa hardware (hinge-things)

Nice to know there is a source for them. Ok..just so i understand this right..the roll over sofas are the ones that can be set up as a sofa then laid out as a bed like a futon right?
