Yeah, I've looked at their products. Tried contacting them about their subframe drop. Unfortunately, they only use Facebook, and I go out of my way not to. Something I am working to embrace a bit more, but sometimes change is more of a process than an event. :(

A year later... How's the Montero?

Resurrecting another thread today... This is one of the nicest looking Monteros I've seen! Sad I was not around to buy it a couple years ago. @ChrisCosta416 Do you know what became of it after the sell?

Considered a Sequoia for my build, but one day going up a mountain trail in Utah with a bunch of tight switchbacks made me rethink it. Lol. Awesome job fabricating that roof rack and rear storage. Love the vehicle.

Thanks. I'll read through that thread. Saw on their website a couple months ago that King now makes their own UCA for the Montero for that clearance issue.

@ChrisCosta416 Which set of Kings did you have? How did you like them? What about the Total Chaos UCAs?

Will be doing more than just mild trails. I'll leave the dedicated rock crawling to the Jeeps, but would like some extra ability to get over whatever obstacles I come across.

I wasn't sure which forums would get the most traction, so decided to post in a few of them and see which works best.

What tire size did you use that made you want to stay closer to stock if you did it all over again?

Been intending to go with K02s, but will have to do some more comparing with Toyo Open Country ATs.

The stock-size tires on there now still have some thread on them. Figure they will be enough for me to establish some baselines and get a feel for the vehicle. Planning on 35" K02s and regearing. Not sure if I want to swap in 4.9s, but that'll be down the road a bit. I downloaded those FSMs...
