Hi Laz
Wonderful creation!
I owned a '97 GMC AWD until it got sideswiped and totaled
What are the inside dimensions...length, width and height?
I've thought of doing the same on an AWD chassis like you or chop off an E350 long wheel base to build up

Seems wildly high!
But...if he put 60k on the tranny in ONE year it might be right. Run the numbers out and that puts it back to 7-8 years. It's already 19 years old.
Greening,
Put the flamethrower down.
I owned it and maintained if from zero mile to junkyard. It worked hard for me and when it was junked the repairs exceeded the value.
Lots o' salt on the roads here in Minnesota. The floor had rusted around the rubber donuts between the frame. The metal...
Sure it would...but how much heat will you get? Do the numbers.
You CAN empty a swimming pool with a soda straw...the draw would be minimal...if you get my drift :D
Twice as many miles on the body/chassis has to be considered. What difference does it make having an engine that goes for X00k miles when the body only lasts X00K miles???
Do you need the added GVW of the 350? What is the actual difference in capacity?
I had an '82 E250 with a high GVW with a...
When I insulated my ToyBox I used the foil backed foam board. It's the highest R-value per inch that I could afford. The get better R-value jumps the cost UP! I used some canned spray foam for the odd corner here and there. After dealing with the mess I'm going to just jam in fiberglass wads to...
Cotton for insulation??? I hear about this denim thing but I haven't read up on it.
In clothing, especially outdoor, performance clothing there is the saying:
Cotton cools
Kotton kills
Does anyone NOT wear wicking, fleece, polyester blends or wool etc. for skiing, hiking water-sports? How...
I've got the 3VZE 6 cylinder in my ToyBox. Head gaskets went out. If I remember it was about $1,500 for the new gaskets along with some other things as long as they had the engine open.
The original head gaskets weren't engineered to be compatible with cast iron block and aluminum heads. In the...
I'm going to be following this EXPO write up here for making the dual battery setup: http://www.expeditionportal.com/foru...y-setup-for-50
Be sure to have all of the supplies...including the beers!
When I do my battery setup these are the instructions I'm following too...with a beer.

YOu're on the road that I'm considering.
I'm torn between a short bus and a Uhaul type box truck though.
Nice to see the data list at the beginning of this thread.
Tom
Maybe not for the engine but all of the other wear parts. Drivetrain...brakes...electro/vacuum climate control gizmos...door seals.
My DD is a 2000 Crown Victoria with 92k miles. Various things are starting to fail. Nothing too expensive but it is challenging my time/cost ratio compared to a...
