1994 Ford E250 , FINALLY got one that wont blow up

Insulation is all good...up to a point. Take a look at 1" foam board with foil backing on both sides. The R value is quite high. Using 2" foam does add insulation but there is so much glass and leaky door seals that I doubt that you're gaining very much in the long run. 2" will also remove...

    The Ute II: E350 RB 7.3 ZF6

Agreed! That's what I used on my ToyBox build. Nice clean stuff to work with and tidy up the squeeze out too. What a beautiful build! Thanks for taking the time to fill us in on what you're doing. Tom

Van choice...balance load capacity and MPG

Thanks...this is what I've been thinking. My folks had a 302 in their van and Dad said it was underpowered a bit too often. This was a late 80's E150 so I don't know how to compare with the current vehicles. I'll have to see what is on the market. I don't think I'll go for the V10. Towing a...

Van choice...balance load capacity and MPG

Mid teens would be a treat...I understand. 4WD isn't in my plan. A second level consideration is one of the Chevy/GMC full size AWD vans though.

Van choice...balance load capacity and MPG

My daily drive is a 2000 Crown Vic...creature comforts! Not much towing...mostly for camping or some small tree pruning/removals using a trailer. I've kind of thought that. My expectation is to be happy with mid-teens MPG. NO diesel! I owned an Astro cargo van. Great work truck and small...

Van choice...balance load capacity and MPG

After doing some research I found that the 2007 and newer E150's have a higher load capacity. Around 3k# if I remember right. That seems like plenty for my build. But now...I wonder. I had an '82 E250 years ago, it was probably the best 'thing' that I've ever bought in my life. Served me well...

Simple kind of van, a 2006 e150 build thread.

I'm in the boat behind you...still looking for a van. I found that the payload capacity for 2007 E150 was increased depending on a few variables. Up to 2,800# in 2007 from 2,275 in 2006. Is there a reason you chose an '06 not an '07? Maybe I'm being too concerned... Tom

Hard mount pop trailer to truck frame?

Salt and Roy, Ahhh...kindred dreamers and planners! Here's my concept...it falls in between the two of yours. Vans fit my needs better than pickups. Enclosed cubic space works better for me. The catch...no outside storage or work area. A flatbed van is my solution. After doing a lot of...

    Body swap(body on frame rig)??

This is semi-related...to go along with advise that has been shared. I bought a 2 ton cab/chassis and mounted a dump box on it. One of my employees got pulled over for some petty reason. When the LEO ran the VIN from the plate on the driver's door jam he found that it was from a vehicle with a...
