Pics of your Bikes and Rides

This was my RTW BMW GS. Coming back from Alaska. The V Strom at Johnson Valley helping a buddy with an event. and at Creel before heading down to Batopilas. And last, at Beast Feast, an ADV rider event in Mississippi.

The quest for the perfect van seats

Don't forget the RV market. While my old 96 class C, Lazy Daze doesn't have all the bells and whistles, the seats are decent and have held up well for 27 years now. They are on swivel bases. Newer RV's might have the bells and whistles that you require.

Help Needed Sourcing Onan Genny Part for Tiger Camper

You might want to check a wrecking yard that handles RV's. That 2800 propane genny has been around for awhile, might find a used one that has few hours on it. Also, NAPA has been good at getting me some Onan parts. Take the old valve to them, maybe they can cross reference it to one they sell.

What about the DEF system when you travel to Third World countries?

Is there a way to trick the DEF system to think that it has DEF, but really you are using some other fluid, like water?

    2022 Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG Squared $529,991

Many people that bought exotic vehicles to resell at a profit are realizing their mistake. And it's going to get even worse for them.

Looking for reliable online gear stores!

Back in the day, Aerostich had a great selection of goodies available. They had an awesome catalog and the Darien outfit I had lasted a long time, and took a lot of abuse.

    Dual sport suggestions

The Kawasaki KLX is the best choice for hauling with The Jeep. Probably the most fun too, when considering that all KTM's are pretty high strung and require a lot more maintaining than most bikes. With all the emission requirements these days, it's not easy find bikes that aren't water cooled...

    Water Storage in the Desert

We use 7 gallon water jugs from Reliance called Aquatainers. They are BHP free and hold up very well. Being blue in color helps to keep the nasty things to a minimum. I store mine in a spot that keeps them out of the sun, It can still get pretty warm inside the RV at times but I haven't had a...

    Horse or stock trailer conversions...

There are some really nice horse haulers that have living quarters up front. Some are huge, but others not. If you are OK with a small living area, the back would make for a nice place to haul your motorcycle or other toy. You might even be able to get the back made up for hauling toys instead...

A Lifted Overlanding Prius | Crossing Darién Gap | What's Needed?

I decided to skip the Darien when I was out and about. It wasn't worth the chance of destroying my motorcycle in an attempt. I flew my bike to Equador because at the time Colombia was still unsafe for moto travel. So, if you aren't afraid of destroying your Prius on just getting thru the...

And make sure you are well armed. That is not the friendliest place to travel these days.

A Lifted Overlanding Prius | Crossing Darién Gap | What's Needed?

The Army Corp of Engineers gave up on trying to make a road thru the Gap. That should give you an idea of what to expect.

Hodaka"Pops" Revel Build - Traveling in Comfort

I like that you do extensive research when looking at new rigs to build. Then make improvements based on that research. Well done as usual.

    Jeep Grand Cherokee

My buddy has a 2014 GC with the eco diesel engine. It's been pretty reliable, has had a few more complicated recalls, but over all is nice. Around town it gets about 23 mpg, on long rural road trips we have had it up to 35 mpg. That gives it a range of over 700 miles. Has plenty of power and...

Thinking of buying a Winnebago Revel van. Talk me out of it?

When your RV is your home, not just for weekend use, you realize trying to take it places that can be hard on it, just isn't worth it. I have a small class C, built on a Ford E350 chassis. I'm not willing to take it down bad road just to get another mile or so away from people. Someone will be...

Can someone smarter than me please explain…

Commodity prices are going to get much more expense and soon. How much will it cost to replace a 7 year old Tesla battery when someone goes looking for a used EV? $20,000 would be hard to come up with for most people for a battery.

I Found it in the Woods

In 2016 I went up to Oregon to help start a cannabis farm. While cleaning up the property I came across a piece of farm machinery that had been buried in the brambles for a long time. It's a Farmall Combine from the 40's.

Anybody Paint there 4x4 Van lately? Cost?

You could take it down to Rocky Point in Mexico and have a guy there paint it for you. A lady on my Laze Daze RV forum did and it turned out pretty good. Not sure what it cost, but has to be cheaper than just about anywhere in the US. You get a free vacation as well.
