    What battery options?

Take a look at Chairman/Concorde. These are military grade solar type batteries, designed to be used on a daily basis. I have some in solar towers that have in use for 12 years or more. Great batteries. Not economical by any means though.

Skersfan's New Shuttle Pod Trailer Build...

I originally had it on the door completely, but too much weight hanging on it. Moved it to above the door, but the bikes will be attached to the door. Heavier struts would lift and hold it, but then if the bikes were not it, it would knock you down. I am tethering the bikes to the roof rack...

Skersfan's New Shuttle Pod Trailer Build...

Well almost done with the remodel. Removed all wiring, all plumbing and all propane. Installed new Progressive Dynamics control box, soldered all wires and heat shrink on all wiring. Installed new TV with DVD, last one failed after two years. Installed new Microwave, door broke, would not open...

    LaOutbackTrail's trailer build

Scott, two things, I would recommend going with a articulating hitch, not for the up and down, but for the twisting, IE right trailer wheel 6 foot up on one side. It can twist the trailer off the ball hitch. Not something to worry about, but it does happen, and when it does, the hitch is...

    Guasti offroad trailers?

The spelling zuk. I know I am not the best at checking my spelling or typos either. But my guess is, that on your web site many have looked at it before. But the human mind is programed to take the right number of letters for a word and arrange them to read it. Not even noticing the...

M416 Build - Phase II - Addition of Hardsided Folding Camper Top

Still very impressed. Going where no off roader has gone before. Just think how good the third and fourth ones will be. I had to say it. Headed to Colorado next Friday, will be in Ouray for a week for the FJ Summit. Will be dragging my trailer over California and down Corkscrew. Then we...

    Starting a Trailer

I would stay away from marine, get some type of AGM and a minimum of 105 amp hours. I would recommend these over all the others, including Optima. http://www.concordebattery.com/chair_main.php . I have several of the 105 amp hour batteries that have lasted over 12 years. Truly an amazing...

    Bear attacks

Bears have been known to rip doors off of trucks. Keeping the area clean, trash sealed and grey water potted helps a lot. A little noise normally keeps them away to. We had a grizzly crawling around our travel trailer one time at Yellowstone. The ranger asked us to move the next morning. I...

    Guasti offroad trailers?

Actually the price is quite reasonable, compared with other tent trailers on this board. Top end ones run into the low to mid 20's. It has a steel frame, upper it sounds like. The honey comb panels are quite expensive and is the RV industry top standard. I have seen tents like that go for...

Post favorite pics of your rig and trailer

I really like the looks of these trailers. Great base for any type of build you want to do. Doubt they got beat up as badly either. May take a look for one locally, be a fun project to say the least. Bob

    Adventure Brigade's Teardrop Trailer Build

If you can fit plastic film over it, try to. If not there is a water proof spray on. Home Depot carries it. I did my last trailer with it. I would suggest doing every month or so, keep building the rubber base up. I have a small piece of plywood setting in water with it sprayed on all...

Skersfan's New Shuttle Pod Trailer Build...

After the last two builds, I decided it was time to renovate the original. Putting new electrics, gas system and plumbing in the old girl. Will get some fresh photos of her soon. Now just a little over 18500 miles on it. Out side still looks like new, but the kitchen needs some help. Not...

Aspen X Trails Kelly Tear Drop build

Thanks Jon for the nice words, I felt the same dealing with you. when I took on the job, I told you, that you would never wonder where the trailer was at, that it would have continuous updates, and questions, requests for ideas as the build went along. You provided many great ideas that will...

    Jah310 Trailer Build. Here goes...!

I would consider triangulating the tongue. How thick is the wall on the 2 inch tongue tubing. I use 2.5 tubing with 1/4 inch wall thickness and still triangulate. Takes a few extra minutes, but it makes the tongue much stronger. IMHO. Bob

Aspen X Trails Kelly Tear Drop build

Thanks a million guys. Never hesitate to pm me with any questions. I will not say I will know the answers but two heads seem to be better than one in most cases. I really want to build an Aframe, ground up, off road (my thinking of off road) trailer. I am saving money for frame work, as it...
