Are there a lot of places to go exploring out near your neck of the woods? I don't really head up north that much, unless it's towards the sonoma/mendocino coast.

So far the size hasn't been a detriment for myself, except for when someone backed into the side of my truck in a parking lot and left a small dent. But outdoors, pin-striping is all I have had to deal with so far. I say go for it, it you enjoy driving it.

Congrats on going with what works for you and your family, and not just following the lead on here to get a monster v8 or diesel. Those are definitely some decent mpg's for a 4x4 1/2 ton.
Nice platform build for your Lr3. I was thinking about switching out my wooden one, for an aluminum frame like yours. Definitely a good idea. Nice to see some more bay area people on here. If you ever want to go hit the dirt or just BS, shoot me a pm.
