Looks like an air exchanger. or filtered positive pressure setup to keep dust out. Or, small vent for a wetbath since solar on top might prohibit roof vent for wet bath.
- (diesel or gas) cabin heater and oev hydronic system.
Will be interesting to see implementation details of that, but I think they have the specs mixed up because only the fixed High Country comes with diesel heater/hydronic and full induction cooktop. OEV has diesel/hydronic listed Flatbed...
Did you see a weight published somewhere or have conversation with OEV guys? Was that for the HC fixed or flatbed? Though, being that the Base Camp soft top is 2,950lb, it's a safe guess. So just curious.
As for chassis, in my opinion:
Hudson Bay and Alpine = 2500/250 or 3500/350 series
Base...

As with most retail things, it is misleading to compare the actual materials and labor costs between different models. Any business will assign cost by perceived value and what the market will bear. That leaves the consumer to decide what is "worth it" to them.
This bears out with the cost...
Pasting my comment from the other thread into this thread.

Very interesting that they have two version of the High Country Hardwall; one that is fixed (Starts At $146,175.00 USD) and one that is removable with the model-specific flatbed (Starts At...
Very interesting that they have two version of the High Country Hardwall; one that is fixed (Starts At $146,175.00 USD) and one that is removable with the model-specific flatbed (Starts At $122,500.00 USD). Base camp now lists only soft top. Hard to determine where this falls in the lineup and...
@tacollie Sorry to hear that didn't work out. Sounds like they have some kinks to sort through now that Bish's has bought out BigSky RV. I'm late to the party replying in this thread as my notifications weren't working (I was the Chad that exchanged a couple messages with you in the FB group)...
You'll probably be the first person every to move from an OEV camper to a FWC camper. I'll be interested in hearing your honest opinion on pros and cons once you make the change. (y)
Many of us are former FWC owners and so have enough experience in those to delineate why we moved from FWC to...
Good call-out, Paul.
And a note for those who have a pickup auto policy that automatically covers a slide-in pickup camper and cargo while on the pickup, make sure you still have the insurer document the camper VIN and declared value on your policy. That type of auto policy coverage typically...
Agreed. All three of those listings have different stock number and different VIN numbers listed and simply say "Call for Details" rather than listing out the options. Some of the exterior pics are shared between at least two of those listings, but the interior pictures seem unit-specific and...
Add on note is that BigSkyRV sold to Bish's RV this summer. Their website URL seems to still be BigSkyRV, but that might change at some point. Just don't be thrown off if you call them and they answer as "Bish's RV". This is the dealership that is a couple 2 miles from my house and where we...
Depends on the week, but note that OEV was closed for a week between Christmas and New Years and are probably very slammed catching up after being out of the office for a week+. That being said, it's typically best to (and OEV encourages this) reach out to an authorized dealership with questions...
@MisterSmith Those 3D printed molle nuts are great. I don't even have Molle panels on our camper and I want some. Ha. What size are these nuts (sizing of OEV panel cutouts)?
@MisterSmith @MatthewHamon @PaulPritchard Have any of you contacted an OEV dealership or OEV directly regarding the...
A heat-exchanging air-exchanger is typically an advantage only at temperature extremes; very hot and also running a 12v air conditioner. Or cold while also running the heat. That will allow one to still have air exchanged (what you typically do by having a window open) without "letting the...
To clarify, OEV is now offering a hardwall version of the Hudson Bay and they estimate about $10,000 more that soft top version. The Base-Camp is one level up (9' length, permanently mounted to chassis (not on a flatbed), next level up interior, etc.) and yes, is about twice the price of the...
Agreed. Would really like weight forward and a water tank in between the galley and storage closet would make a great step up into the cabover and a nice platform for anyone wanting to use a chest fridge. Granted, one or both of those would limit access to that section of the galley, but if no...
