2021 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-HBE pop-up flatbed pickup camper (renamed the "Hudson Bay" for 2023 model year)

Will be nice to see the design when they finish the first one. Interested in how they slope the cabover roofline (similar to BASE-CAMP and Summit?) and impact on cabover interior space. By the way @Ninelitetrip, I found the picture of the OEV with the drawer that also servers as step up and...

    2019 F350 6.2L 4WD build thread; HPI flatbed, ATO AterraXL composite camper, Carli/King, 37s, 4.88s, etc

No re-engineering. Simplifying drivetrain, actually. the 6.8, unlike the 6.2, is identical to the 7.3 so just some bore/stroke magic to have a base engine and a "premium" engine, but get rid of the very different 6.2 engine. And I think it's the same 10 speed for both the 6.8 and 7.3 so one...

Agreed on the super thin FWC cabover thickness (on certain models; though thicker on the models with underbed storage). When we had our FWC Hawk, that very thin cabover made for lower overall camper which helped both aerodynamics and trail branch clearance. For us, the con to that thin cabover...

Yes, that black panel/switches look like 110v circuit breakers (12v fuses/breakers handled elsewhere). Better picture of that end of the galley as well as the door/entry switches as video 00:23. That black bundle of cables is where the solar wiring comes down but also where the DC goes up to...

I didn't see anything showing where the victron now live. He mentions electronics moved forward, but only showed the inverter. The top galley cabinet was a flip down previously and the next two were slide-out drawers. That looks to still be the case. They show the inverter in the lower area now...

110v outlet on the end of the galley (minute 5:03 in video). Went back and looked at my picks of the older version and that is the same spot as before. Switches on the galley and, at minute 4:49 in the video, shows the second set of switches that are reachable from outside. They are on the...

2021 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-HBE pop-up flatbed pickup camper (renamed the "Hudson Bay" for 2023 model year)

The cabover thickness did not increase and no subfloor is added to accommodate the underbed storage. That is the reason the underbed storage is only 2.5" thick; that is all the room there was without increasing the cabover thickness, which they did not want to do. An increase in closed height...

2021 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-HBE pop-up flatbed pickup camper (renamed the "Hudson Bay" for 2023 model year)

They have addressed several of my concerns with this update! The battery box being where it is now is a huge improvement. Owners can now expand to large capacity with the optional "double size" battery box or eliminate the box all together and have the entire storage closet floor available...

2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

That's all good advice. I hope I've not led people astray by calling the technique a wimpy name such as wiggle. Ha. Maybe "rapid push/pull" would be more descriptive. It does require a fair bit of effort to put enough upward force on the rear hinge to have the intended effect. The intent is to...

2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

Sorry to hear that, Shawn. I misunderstood your initial post to mean BOTH rear latches were equally shifted forward; not that the roof is twisted. If the drivers rear is that far off and the passenger rear is much less off, then there is either an corresponding overhang/misalignment on the front...

2021 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-HBE pop-up flatbed pickup camper (renamed the "Hudson Bay" for 2023 model year)

That meld would be impossible for me to resist. I'm currently sitting on a thin fence between the Aterra and Hudson Bay (formerly Camp-HBE). My ongoing constructive input for the Hudson Bay is that it needs the showerpan redesigned (again) to make it lower/usable, needs an option other than a...

And, with this suspension/tires setup, pickup, flatbed plus camper, What is the measurement from hard ground to highest hard point on the camper (overall height)? And, for table to easily get it out of the way, have you thought about a retrofit similar to the OEV Hudson Bay (Formerly Camp-HBE)...

2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

I'm assuming that is the rear of the camper based on the light (my 2020 has all 4 clamps on the sides; not front and back). Regarding how to get the camper to align, are you dropping the front first and then the rear? If so, that is the correct order and I would assume you are because that does...

Cost on the Wrappon toilets are about $1.30 - $1.50 per "flush" including both the bag and coagulant. Then the upfront cost of $1,000 for the Wrappon unit itself. We've gone back and forth on it ourselves, since we like the idea of easier blackwater handling, but the cons are plastic bags...

Will be good to have dealer evaluate. For clarification, was it only one of the soft top windows or all of them? Once an evaluation, cause and remedy is determined, please post an update. Will be interesting to here. Thanks.

2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

Same with our 2020 CAMP-X that we've used for 3 summers. Many thunderstorms and hailstorms with no leaks, "soak throughs" or weeping. I’ll note, however, the current design of soft top windows is different than our 2020. @FlyGoat My guess is this is more related to a one-off defect than design...

Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) BASE-CAMP Pickup Camper - Soft-Wall and Hard-Wall Versions

I heard back from Arnold regarding BASE CAMP width specs. I'd also mentioned that the hard sided BASE CAMP mentioned an opened and closed height which does not apply, of course, so that is to what he's referring in the below response about correcting the height... "The exterior width is 82 and...

I reached out directly to Arnold on the BASE CAMP width. I'll post up when I hear back.

Paul, thanks for sharing some pics. Really love the terrain/parks in the pacific northwest area. On our trip to Orcas Island, we routed through, and spent one night in, the North Cascades and want to plan a trip back when we can spend more time there. Might combine with Olympic National Park.
