I have had 2 blue tops in my rig for years and no problems, best warranty in the business at 4 years full replacement and then another 6 prorated (10 yr total). Optima sealed cell gel batteries are amongst the best and Wal-Mart and Costco usually have the best price. Right now there is a $20...
Awning positioning
Might check other threads on this portion of the forum as I am sure AT Trailers (check out their site for photos, also awning manufacturer sites might help as well) have a good way of doing this and you wouldn't be the first to run into this problem.
Just wondering how your fab guy ensure it is a Class III receiver? or for that matter is it airbag compliant. Like so many custom things getting DOT approved is a nightmare so wondering why he says Class III and how he gets it certified?
I am looking for something the same but screens, as I have sliding windows on both sides behind the driver/passenger. Would be great for cooler nights and no bugs as I sleep inside.
Nice build and love the photos, keep 'em coming!
Hate to rain on your parade but I think the square tubing brackets holding up the rods for your awning are eventually going to crack/break off with all the torque it will get during bumpy rides. Might want to keep an eye on them for early signs...
I ran into this site (CBI Off Road Fab) from a fellow ExPo member Wil Kuhns, and checked it out. The owner, Steve Eagan (you can get his email and phone number from the site) was even willing to meet me on the road during my trip through Wyoming last year but I dropped by his shop on the way...
Be patient guys, it hasn't been anywhere close to 60 days (business days I suspect) since the survey. SOG is a reputable outfit and I am sure they will come through, just takes time as they probably won't begin shipping until the survey is closed and results are all tabulated. Probably will be...
You will find the Bass Pro is meant for the hunter/fisher and not much else, but few stores have that selection that Bass Pro has.
Cabelas is best to buy online, as you noted, the price is lower cause they need no brink/mortar or sales person and have delivery to local store for pick up if...

Being Neoprene, I wonder how they will take to the baking sun and freezing temps of our continent. Neoprene, like so many plastics doesn't like UVs and doesn't like to be frozen and thawed a lot.
Wonder how the constant pulling on and off will wear it as well. I talked to their sales rep to get...
Why bother with the holders at all, why not just use bungy cords to hold them to your roof rack? Then there would no wear and tear other than where they contact the rack and if you put the bungees just right, that would also be eliminated.
unwiredadventures: Since you said you use it primarily to stay in touch with your business/work, you should be able to write it off as a business expense on your IRS filing, at least the hardware/software or depreciate it and then keep track of your calls/internet usage for personal use versus...
Spikepretorius: If you send me a plane ticket to S. Africa, I'll bring everything everyone else offered plus the Aussie skirt in the ARB snatch block ad. Top that fellow Portalforumpersons! :wings:
You're way too coordinated to get it down that fast on the first try, Randy! Have a couple of  and then do it again. If you still get it down in 30 secs or less, you need to get a better social life!
