    007's Expedition Build

I do have a second battery that is isolated with a LUNA dual battery setup. I usually turn the bunk heater on before crawling into bed, then shut it off after I'm warmed up. If its really cold I'll leave it on the low setting. the battery will last two nights on low. I still use my Mr. buddy...

    007's Expedition Build

If you own a T-top style RTT, then you know how awesome the lower annex is... And you also know what a pain it is to unpack, unfold, sort, attach, remove, fold, and pack... It seems most the time you just leave the thing packed up because it isn't worth the time and effort to install for one...

    For RTT users....extreme cold?

I'll get pics on my next trip (2 weeks), but this is how it is done: 1. Attach the tent walls but leave them unzipped 2. get about 16' of black nylon strap from the hardware store (same strap that eezi-awn uses in the cover) - to be cut into approx. 2' lengths 3. get 8 sets of black plastic...

    For RTT users....extreme cold?

I've spent many nights in a rtt when it was well below zero. 1.) Get an eezi-awn t-top or equivalent ! You need the annex in extreme weather. I've modified mine so that the walls roll up and stow with the tent, removing them is a hassle (not sure why eezi-awn hasn't thought of this?). 2.) In...

    Trump's 03 Tacoma

Good points on the Flip-pac! What did your mileage do when you switched from the 4:30's to the 4:88's? I agree these motors love to spin.

    Trump's 03 Tacoma

Great thread! I have a man crush on your truck! Two questions if you don't mind, Are you happy with the flip compared to the rtt? What kind of mileage do you get, and how did the re-gear affect that? I have a similar setup to yours ( 01 2.7 rtt w/short rack & 4:30's turning 255's) I'm...

100,000 miles and beyond recommended service and part replacement?

I just rolled 100,000 on my 01 tacoma, and I'm planning a major overhaul to insure I can get another trouble free 100k. Beyond the basic listed service items (fluids, filter, plugs etc.), I'm wondering what else I should do - the truck is only used for remote trips, so failures that can leave...

A new twist on bed mounted RTT's

It seems to me that the tent would be supported in the down position - The tent would rest on the bars running lengthwise and across, granted you would need attachment points to keep it from bouncing upward.
