Yes, yes and Yes!
I normally leave mine on only for trips... but I do like the idea of just leaving it on.... I actually noticed a couple of holes from a recent trip where it was rubbing on the spare tire
With the plugs out, it should rotate pretty easily.... The compressed air puts the cylinder in bottom dead center. Then I fed the rope in and used a socket on the crank bolt to mash the rope into the bottom of the valves to keep them from falling into the cylinder.
I did the job with the...
something I read online indicated that every 10 degrees warmer you drop 1% in power 90 to 160 would be ~7%
although...... if you do evacuate the heat from the engine compartment, then the air coming in the standard intake would be cooler... a win win win!
While out today, the outside air temps didn't go much above 90. While driving down the highway (60+ mph) my air intakes were very similar to outside air temp levels..... but when moving along in 4 low, my air intake temp was hitting 160.
I've got to think that a HUGE increase like that has...
**Update 3
I'm going to call this case closed.... did a 260 mile round trip included freeway, 4 low, lots of bumping around.... no a slip in site... had OD on the way to and from without failure.
I also noticed that at freeway speeds I seemed to have a little more lower end grunt. Normally...
**Update 2
day the day after I changed the fluid I had no OD to and from work.... that evening is when I checked the trans fluid temp gauge.... it seemed to be working.... but the wires did get a little jostle around.... since then I've had had OD to and from on my commute.... that's 3 days of...
I just tossed my old struts a couple of weeks ago. I think the three mounting bolts are evenly spaced, but if you pull off the air intake box, you can get access to the bolts on the passenger side
**Update
My issue isn't fully solved yet. I did do a fluid swap (just go ahead and buy a case, you'll probably need the extra 2-3 quarts because you'll end up flushing out more than the 8.9, and then you'll have to wake up at 6am to get to the dealer to buy those 3 quarts so you can get home to...
someone pinged me earlier about the seats but will let you know if it falls through.
I don't have the driver's seat bottom (unless you have a manual tan driver's seat bottom you can point me to)
I still have the leather seats.... Going to chuck them unless someone wants em. If I separate them from the foam, they would ship fairly small and light.
Ok, I'm going to backtrack a little..... on the way home today, started having my intermittent shift issues, dropped it out of OD and it was feeling like the issue was persisting (but only slightly).... so when I pulled in the drive I popped the hood, checked the fluid level. While the fluid...
Found a nice image here: http://pajero.myfreeforum.org/Overdrive_solenoid_about123.html
haven't determined if this is my problem, but helpful to know exactly where the solenoid is.
Image is titled: where the Overdrive solenoid is on a Mk2 2.5, from the The Mitsubishi 4x4 Owners Group Forum...
