    Agreed, The OP is definitely going the right route with a large high voltage panel and MPPT controller. I would also consider Morningstar MPPT and if you have room for two panels put in a controller large enough to handle two panels.

    To be clear the amperage from the panel will be 8.73 Amps max. it is the output from the charge controller that will be higher.

    The panel will be fine, The issue will be making sure the wiring is large enough to handle the amperage. You will also need appropriate sized breakers. you can make a 12V or any voltage system you want.

    Drinking untreated surface water is not safe. Municipal water(excluding Flint, Moab, etc.) no worries. Maintain your tanks, fill with safe water only or treat, and you are good to go.

    The cab should reach a point where it "tips over" so that you have to pump it back to lower. This prevents it from dropping on you inadvertently. It is possible that the oversize cab may not lift far enough for this to happen.
