    Improving headlight options.

An led light bar throws great light, the Heffalump has two led spot lights up high, great off road, but be prepared for a huge fine if caught with them on on public roads.

    Improving headlight options.

The Heffalump has a 24V 200 Amp alternator so power is not an issue. You may not like this but my best advice is: DO NOT DRIVE AT NIGHT. No matter how good your lights, stop when the sun goes down.

It is too bad, Rob Pickering is a great mechanic, but he always seems to be a one man show. Once you get to know him you are set. It is a long way to go, if you are ever out that way stop in. Unimog Canada is Hans Mross in Langley BC. We dropped in on his shop on our way through. Hans is...

Air brake canister 1993 917 AF

Rob Pickering in Colorado is the only mech in the USA I know that I would trust. He can order parts for you and get them drop shipped anywhere. It would be worth the time to go to La Junta. Go to the dinosaur tracks in Picket Wire canyon, check out Bent's fort and maybe if you're lucky Rob will...

    Induction stoves

Appliances that work on a wide range of voltages are not common. You would be better with a battery charger that can accept a wide range and then have your inverter put out the constant voltage required.

    Help requested, Patagonia, Argentina

We broke a spring in Patagonia. A parabolic on a Mercedes 917 (9 tonne 4X4 truck). We have airbags that could handle the load. I think we limped into Rio Gallegos. The Mercedes truck dealership sent us to a truck spring shop across the street. The spring shop said they did not have springs for...
