What does it weigh, how many miles per gallon, and how big is the tank?

    Reloading anyone?

You really should have two, a progressive and single stage. The progressive loaders will not match the single stage loaders for accuracy, the powder throw isn't as precise amongst other variables. My dillon press about doubles my group size. Much of reloading is testing small batches of...

    "cordless" engine block heaters.

You would be golden to run a full syn edit*(5-40W) all year. It would be a major difference in crank speed.

    good camper heater

Mine shuts off at about 7,000ft because of the low oxygen sensor. If you have an older model, or the sensor doesn't work it might still burn up to about 10,000ft but you'll need a good draft to keep the oxygen level high enough for a good burn. If its really cold, the draft required will just...

Kid's Gear: Help Me Clothe The Ladies

Good idea guys! One thing to remember about receiving clothes is the possible spread of bed bugs. When you get them, either put them in the freezer for a couple nights or run them through the dryer on high to kill any possible bugs or eggs. Pretty simple precaution, and well worth the savings...

    good camper heater

I was all set to go that route because it doesn't introduce moisture, and it creates positive air pressure to force out drafts..... but, it relies on propane which relies on low altitude and a fill station. I would still want a little solid fuel stove as a back up.

    good camper heater

I just camped with a fellow expo member (Wardrow) at 6,500ft during zero (F) degree temps using a buddy heater to heat a T-TOP Tent. It worked a little bit, but nothing spectacular. At lower altitude it will burn a 1lb bottle for 8-10 hrs. Up high I got maybe 3hrs and then the other bottles were...

    RTT Questions

X2 I bought my 1600 TTOP used from Paul May at Equipt. He had taken excellent care of it and I don't regret the decision at all. I would certainly consider the T-top design because of the enclosed standing room. I leave my lower room attached to the tent Fall and Winter and fold everything up...

    255/85/16 vs 285/75/16

I've had both the BFG 285/75/16 and the 255/85/75 My experience was better with the 255's. They track like I was in a car going down the highway, yet feel unstoppable off-road. The 285's wandered a little more on road and seemed less agile on the trail, making them my 2nd choice.

    Photographing the eclipse

Thank you! I stayed out all night snapping shots without much luck. I'm not as skilled as you, so they didn't do the event justice. I wanted a token shot to remember the night I shared with the people of 1632 :)

Past the point of no return...

Realistically however, the big heavy V8's would miss the mark. Overburdened and overpowered isn't the way of the Tacoma. A Lightweight high revving ninja motor complements the nimble athleticism of wee trucks :smiley_drive: Super/turbo charge the 2.7... Or ...Let LC engineering reforge its...

Karma is a sham.... no way did you do anything good enough to deserve this :coffeedrink: I'm actually a little bit mad at you for causing all this painful jealousy! I got a bad case of the wants. You ruined Christmas for the rest of us.

    Which Garmin for Overland Use?

I use the NUVI550, its waterproof and also works great for hiking. Some of the other Nuvi have some neat apps that run off the OBDII, but I really needed a waterproof unit, and didn't want to spend too much on other brands I'll wait for technology to plane out and get a dedicated rig GPS...

Expedition Portal has its first millionaire.

I would think focus was forced to change once the founding members chose to make a living off of expo this and expo that :) Its too bad the place lost its home grown atmosphere to all the advertising and passerby's, but it also freed up time and helped fund all the things that they have brought...
